First, sexism isn't particularly enjoyable. Prejudice of any kind isn't particularly enjoyable. It may have been fine years ago, but today's media is held to a higher standard. And as this passage pointed out, games are to be held to the standard of the point in time at which is was evaluated. They do not only review the gameplay, they review everything in the game. And that includes things that are morally questionable. Why is violence ok? That's our culture. Violence is acceptable in media provided the age rating is appropriate. That may change in the future. But this is being rated today against today's standards. I would hope blatant sexism would bring the rating down in a movie as well. Satire is one thing, simply being sexist is another.
However, maybe you enjoy sexism. Maybe other people do. Ok. I've enjoyed many things reviewers have listed in the "bad" in the past as well. That's going to happen. Everyone enjoys something different. The point is, she saw this is as a flaw in the game and she's well within her right to reduce the score because of it. It's part of the plot and the plot should be taken into consideration when reviewing certain games. This is one of them.
@jophy @Vividnightmare Exactly. This isn't just a port for fanservice. There are people who never played these games looking at this review to decide if it's worth buying. It should be rated accordingly.
Why is everyone complaining about it being a prequel? The comics are known for frequently going back and writing stories from the early days of Batman's career, such as the famous Year One story that this game is allegedly drawing inspiration from. I'm really excited about this!
