crysis

the 4850 is better than the 9800gtx in most games...

it seems a single 9800gtx can outdo pair of 4850s... am i missing something?

i cant really even consider a mobo option until i figure out crossfire or sli...

EmyrsII

a single 9800gtx cant outdo a pair of 4850s, a 4850 and a 9800gtx are similar in performance...

crossfire is 2 ati cards with a crossfire bridge. sli is 2 nvidia cards with a sli bridge...

the p6t motherboard(x58) can do both( correct me if im wrong) but the generally for sli you need a nvidia motherboard like a 780i,750i etc..

for crossfire you generally need a intel motherboard with the x48 and p45 chipset like the p5q etc...

5/10.

you need a new processor like a Athlon 64 X2 5600+, another gig of ram and a 4850. this would make it go up to 7/10 or something.. :)

Oh and what motherboard do you have?

thats a pretty decent graphic card for a laptop..

games like cod4 should look good but crysis, farcry 2 wont look so good, maybe you could run it on low with low fps. look for some benchmarks..

with the 216 its much like the gtx280 and its much more "bang for your buck"

by 216 i believe it means thats how many stream processors(has alot of different names) it has, which is what does all the modeling, texturising in the game..

so yes it would be noticable
