ok, so im going to replace the motherboard with a p6t deluxe 2 which is over $100 cheaper and the power supply to a truepower quattro 850w which is $80

and i should mention that i need this future proof aswell (for graphic card upgrades etc). And also can anyone tell me how much a 5850 would cost in australian dollars cause i cant find it anywhere, thanks.

hey guys im building a new gaming rig im planning on playing games like flight simulator on high reso's and some heavy multi tasking

this is what i have so far...

Motherboard: Asus RAMPAGE 2 EXTREME$525

RAM: Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-12800/1600 (3x 2GB) $285

Graphic card: Asus Radeon HD4890 1GB $260

Power supply: Antec TruePower Quattro 1000W ATX Power Supply $275

CASE: Antec Twelve Hundred - Black Full Tower ATX Gaming Case $240

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 $365

Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 32MB SATA 3Gbs$145

CD Drive: LG SATA DVD Re-Writer (22x - Black) $70

Total: $2165

now i need some recommendations to get this cheap as possible. I am aware that dx 11 cards just came out (5870, 5890) but i heard that 4890 will be updated to dx 11?... should i wait for dx 11 cards to drop and get a cheaper card (4850, etc)?

and i heard intel are scrapping the 920?

btw prices are Australian

thanks :)

im suprised no one has mentioned comodo internet security.. its free comes with defense+(HIPS), antivirus, firewall etc but the paid version comes with a feature which scans for junk.. just use ccleaner or something for that.

what he meant was try a different monitor and if it works then that means your monitor is broken or faulty...

oh, also try downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card...

well from what ive been reading i7 is great for multi tasking but a e8400 gets a extra 10-20 fps on most games...

gta iv benifits by quad core's and i believe unreal tournament does aswell...

if price isnt a factor ill just go for x58 and i7 but its personal preference
