@Jah_Glow I will help you out, since you have no clue. He meant specifically MMORPG's, like WoW, SWTOR, SecretWorld etc. People don't want to do the same thing they have been doing for the last many years in a new universe with new art and small changes, that just isn't enough anymore.
If you're going to do an MMO, you need to present the mother of all MMO's at this point. Imo, that means mixing sandbox elements with themepark elements masterfully with insane depth and accessibility. It is no easy task, but we're tired of the same old, same old.
I tried ESO beta, it's not a horrible game. But of what I played, I must admit it is not enough for me to start playing an MMORPG again.
@Gelugon_baat While there is luck and randomness in rolling dice, don't forget that stats and skills and proficiency gives you bonuses to your dice rolls, ensuring that it isn't completely random and that your character actually are better at somethings than others and that he will more often succeed in rolls relatable to those things. Summa summarum, it's not totally random at all..
@EdAl2112 You really don't need to know a whole lot as a player as long as your game master doesn't mind. You can pick up what you need along the way and still have a blast. So not really a great argument you have there.
I like boardgames but tabletop RPG is the pinnacle of gaming. There is nothing quite as awesome.. Boardgames however could easily be replaced by video games.. The freedom and appeal and general awesomeness of tabletop RPG though.. No siree, video games can't top that.
Well, Tom McShea giving Bioshock Infinite 4 was laughable. xD
As soon as I saw that score I just quickly scanned the review in 5 secs and thought : "Yeah, I really don't want to read an silly opinion about a pretty good game, that would probably just be frustrating and annoying."
So I didn't.
I do think it's cool idea with the "other takes", I must admit though that the pool of reviewers opinions that I respect is seriously shrinking nowadays.. Too much subjectivity and politics.
I would love some more fps.. I feel some games are considerably in need of a higher framerate on the console. GTA V for example has loads of framerate issues on the ps3 at least.
And yes it's quite easy for me at least to feel and see the difference between 60 and 30 fps. The gamespot video here was an instant woooow, there are too many frames here... For video I don't like like 60fps but for video games... Aw man, give me more frames man, gimme that shit! It makes everything look and feel smoother and better. Makes a world of difference.
