@SaintJimmmy Blizzard gave them permission for one reason; to test the market for turning Starcraft into their next MMO cash cow. I really hope this kickstarter fails to keep atleast one good RTS franchise around.

@hatieshorrer Terrible idea trying to defend Nintendo on Gamespot. This site is packed full of people who hate Nintendo (Journalists and users alike) so the most you will get is being called a fanboy or child.

@texasgoldrush I think PodXCOM was referring to XCOM having its own lore he could have explored to make a good story. Instead he went the lazy route and decided on civil unrest based on the time period with aliens there for no other reason than to be the bad guy.

So no not a victory of style over substance but fiction over non-fiction.
