Persona might as well be an offline MMORPG with all the grinding you have to do. It has a good story and interesting characters, though. Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga should be bought by anyone who enjoys JRPGs. Devil Summoner is also pretty decent, and is worth a buy.

Hey Abbandon, I think you completely missed the point of the game.

Ring of Red is meant to be a SRPG like Final Fantasy Tactics/Fire Emblem/Disgaea etc. The actual combat is just the game's battle system and is a small part of the game as a whole. As far as SRPGs go, it's pretty decent, although it gets extremely repetitive later on. Just don't expect it to play like Armored Core, that's just dumb.

Bionic Commando's gameplay is what sets it apart from other platformers and makes it unique. if you find it "unplayable", it's simply not your type of game. Simple as that.

As far as Yahtzee goes, it's painfully obvious he values the narrative and artistic merits of a game more than the actual gameplay. His favorite games are Psychonauts, Killer 7, and Earthbound. No surprise here he doesn't like old-school games, which are more about challenges and the joy of overcoming them.

No, I think he's more of a modern PC gamer, which means if something is older than 10 years and uses sprites, he's gonna hate it. Hell, he won't even touch anything with even a single anime eye. Kinda weird, because I'm the opposite: an old school console gamer who will never touch a PC game and is wary of modern games that get high scores.

...Huh? You do realize Earthbound is a SNES game, right? And that none of the games I mentioned are PC games (Psychonauts is, but it's multi-platform)? My point is not only backed up by his favorite games, but by the numerous times in interviews and videos that he's waxed poetic about "gaming being recognized as an art form".

Ok thanks. I've decided to try rogue galaxy, and perhaps kingdom hearts and baldur's gate. Final fantasy12 I might leave though, even after reading all the good reviews, it just doesnt appeal to me. Are any of those games ones where you can make choices in-game with different endings and outcomes? I really love those.

By the way I greatly recommend everyone to play radiata stories, sooo cool, and its REAL TIME battles. Random encounters and turn based system where all you do is select the word "attack" on the screen is pretty gay.

Making a pretty big mistake not wanting Star Ocean 3. If you loved Radiata Stories you'll probably like Star Ocean 3 just as much, same battle system but more complex. I also can't recommend Valkyrie Profile 2 and Tales of the Abyss enough... Rogue Galaxy is decent, but those 3 games should be the priority.

Definitely a good plan. There are hundreds of games worth playing on the PS2, 95% of which are going to be $20 or less. In fact, many of them will likely be under $10. Last week, I bought 12 PS2 games... the total cost? $60, the same cost for a new 360 game. Everyone who doesn't own a PS2 should get one.

The core combat is nothing special (although it's entertaining enough) but the true value of this game comes in the story and atmosphere. One of the best video game stories ever, and the game makes the Tokyo setting very, very authentic. Definite buy if you can mind a little repetitiveness in gameplay.

1 and 2 should be passed on, 1 is far too outdated and 2 is just plain terrible.

Never played 3, but if you want FE3 you might as well wait for the DS remake.

FE4 is my favorite FE. The game is by far the most "epic" out of all the FEs, the battle maps are twice as big as any other FE and the storyline spans several generations.

FE5 is very good and has probably my favorite gameplay in the whole series, however... this game is ludicrously hard and I still have not beat it. Do NOT get this unless you can beat all the American FEs on hard mode without breaking a sweat.

FE6 is a great game, pretty much the same thing as FE7 except a little harder.

This game was pretty good considering I got it for $6. You can't get the full experience of the game from a demo. Definitely not my favorite "unknown" PS2 game, though... I wouldn't even put in my Top 20.

[QUOTE="Luigi_Vincetana"]Anyway the point as to why I'm complaining about This lightsaber stance is because it's not a true backhand style.Luigi_Vincetana

Well, the way you're complaining about it makes you sound like you're a Star Wars fan.

I mean, if you aren't a Star Wars fan, why do you care at all?

I like backhand sword styles, I was disappointing with Starkiller's animations so I like pointing out that it fails. Anyway I don't think I was entirely clear, I am a fan of SW, but not to a level were I don't nitpick at it (As I said, I'm a pessimist, I nitpick on everything, including stuff I like).
