COpy protection, even though always gets cracked, does work, and well. If it was as simple as copying a game, then you would have THOUSANDS more people who have basic PC knowledge, copy it as simply as copying/burning a CD illegally. The copyright makes alot of people have to phsyically alter hardware on consoles etc. Which MANY people do not want to do, even if they otherwise would buy priated games. Not everyone knows a game pirate. So it works very well in theory, but it will gradually increase the prices of Video games forever.

This thread is insane. Smerlus I have no clue how you put up with this nonsense. The stuff coming from these posts just boggles the mind. I have not seen a game with a checkpoint system so bad that you loose progress cause you have to go somewhere. Almost all games with a checkpoint system have an update under 5 minutes, its a nonissue. Since that is a nonissue then the only thinh saving anywhere provides is a way to save inbetween checkpoints, basically allowing you to in a way cheat your way through any situation. And again if you are one of those people who don't like to save after every hard section then you are creating an artificial checkpoint system, you are basically doing the exact same thing checkpoint games provide, the only diference you dont have to do any work in games with a checkpoint system. The argument was a neutral one. Me personally hasnt bothered me yet, I finish all the games regardless of nuisances. Its silly. But until games stop selling because of savepoints, it will never change and really, should it? We got this far.

[QUOTE="Nazarimous"]

Ok when I had a gamecube there wasnt much too choose from in games, I hardly touched it for a while but then suddenly... out came Resident Evil 4. I beat the game 7 times, got the infi launcher, and the hand cannon, and the game took nearly forever to get old.Now they are coming out with this new lovely piece in part 5, and I must say I cant wait to decapitate some baddies and face freakish looking mutants once again.

Ive made this thread to start a discussion on thus games, both 4 and 5. What have you heard, what are your opinions, est.

I want to start off with asking, do you think they should allow you to move while aiming in part 5, just slowly walking but it will slightly decrease your accuracy. Personally I would like that but then again it might ruin it's feel, what do you think.

Resident Evil's combat system has always been behin dthe times. I personally wish that 5 will have a free roam shooter style system. The fact that RE has always been behind technically and still delivered was the good if not great story. Half decent acting (with the exception of the original PS RE 1) and a well designed atmosphere and graphics to genuinely spook you. But if rated as a shooter or anything other than RE standards, it would receive a low score. Lets get with the times people. haha.

[QUOTE="viewtiful26"]In this day and age...you'd think the 360 would have built in Wifi. I mean, plenty of cheaper, portable devices can do it, than why not the 360? I tried connecting to Xbox Live using my Gateway Laptop, and bridging the connection, but it made the experience laggy to say the least. I really don't want to spend $100 on that adapter, my living room is way too far away from my brother's room, which contains the router. Anyone know of any decent solutions to get an good online gaming experience?Dire_Weasel

I'm assuming you already have a wireless router in your house configured as an access point.

If you buy an additional wireless router, and configure it to run in client mode, and connect that to your 360 with an ethernet cable, you won't need the adaptor.

You should be able to buy a basic wireless router for about $40 online. This method also has the advantage of giving you a bunch of extra ethernet ports (that you can connect other network devices to).

This would ideally be the cheapest route. Good call.

[QUOTE="smerlus"]If I were going to give a definition to Artificial Difficulty it wouldn't be because I can't save 4000 times a game to beat it. It would be that I can crank up the difficulty levels on games like R6V and the foes will stay behind cover until I take my reticle off them as if they can see around walls, or the fact that I can run to a different cover spot with they are ducked but next time they pop up they will fire on my exact location.Skie7
Yes, poor game design resulting in artificial difficulty. Still, that's artificial difficulty by choice. Which is exactly what you can have if you choose not to use save anywhere. While those Mario levels are designed to be beatable, they're very poorly designed. The levels rely on artificially ramping up the difficulty by punishing the player for not knowing an invisible coin block was located in a specific location. Even knowing these invisible coin blocks exist doesn't provide the gamer with the knowledge to avoid them. This shifts the focus of the gameplay to trial and error rather than skill. It's on par with a game expecting you to traverse a mine field through trial and error. (Walk, walk, walk. BOOM! Walk, walk, sidestep, walk. BOOM!) But, I'm sure you'd consider that good gameplay because of the "challenge" involved. It's as though you think there's some ulterior motive in making games easier. Does it elude you that the biggest reason we want save anywhere is because we don't want to lose progress when we decide to quit the game?

Yes, losing progress. That would be the main point in saving anywhere. But level difficulty helps you get significantly better at games. A mine field, well, realism is a big seller in games. In real life, soldiers die because they arent psychic. A mine field doesnt have blue prints. But most well designed games give you some sort of checkpoint right before or near a difficult part of the game. An overly difficult level is great IMO but I agree that there should be a more forgiving way to run through sections repeatedly if you get stuck.
