remember when arcade machines used to time release characters.. for free? Like Ultimate MK ? Those were the days... but that was arcade machines so its different you cant really compare it , and that was a whole different time - arcades are not what the used to be in the US. But i hear they are THE S*** in Japan !!!
Nothing has come close to Symphony of Night. how old is that game, like two decades old now?? Just crazy... I would take an epic 2D side scroller with a 'Vanillaware' art style over a 3D Castlevania any day of the week.
Sad truth: no one gives a s***. The mass audience doesnt want what i want - namely, games like Cage makes, so they dont sell as well as the games mass audiences DO want - namely, COD. So its falling on def ears, sorry to say. And thats what drives production in this industry. The sales will dictate what is made. Sure, we get a Dark Souls or Heavy Rain here or there - but its a blip on the radar and we have to savor it. Meanwhile, ill be waiting for Cages next - and i hope its good - cause he obviously doesnt have the means to churn out games every half year like Activision or EA. And thats a shame. Journey was great - but it was so short that it was like premature ejaculation. Maybe ill go back and savor it again, but i havent had a desire to since 100 percenting it. I almost played it yesterday (to show it off to a friend) but I showed him Dark Souls instead.. I do Love Cage though - Heavy Rain was such a playable game even though it was somewhat linear and interactive. And it was intense and mature with a focus on storytelling - that is just rare. My favorite game that had both an amazing story and incredible re playability was Final Fantasy Tactics, and thats a very old strategy rpg. Youd think wed have come further than that by now... fps can be great and original (Bioshock) or they can be "here we go again" (Battlefield/ COD). Its up to the devs to take chances. Thats why I respect the people who made something like, say, Homefront, for taking a chance even though it didnt turn out like people wanted it to. At least they tried to do something different, thats all you can ask 4 imo.
He gave Dark Souls a 9.5. I will NEVER forget that. This guy is a true rpg lover.
Keep up the good work, Kevin.
in regards to this expansion. you can keep it ; have fun if you love the game. i hit a wall about 140 hours into Skyrim and traded it in. I got my moneys worth and then some, but i dont see why you would spend like 20 bones for an extra 20 hours of gameplay especially when the gameplay is this bland..
this is gonna be awesome.. especially since im knee deep in persona 3.. got it on the psn and old graphics aside, its incredible. best rpg ive played in quite some time. although the relationship sim aspects are a lil too japanese for my taste..
