*Shrugs* Why so I can play remastered, indies, and the same old rehashed genres? I stopped caring. I turn my ps4 on every once in a blue moon these days. Probably won't buy another next gen console if Sony/MS expect me to primarily play indie quality games for the first 3 years.... and then old games all over again after that.

@metalboi: YOU see that, but I can't say that for the rest of these fools.. It's funny how everyone wants to rag on the switch, but most of the games that won awards this year were pretty meh... except Hellblade which was still a damn Indie game...

@blueberry_bandit: As a UPS driver that delivers to multiple stores.... PSVR shortages just weren't as bad as people made them out to be.

Regardless, I think you are a very optimistic person in this scenario which isn't a bad thing. I honestly hope I'm wrong, but I wish you the best in this situation.

1.) I find VR pretty damn pointless, but I think the biggest irony here is... The guy who has no real interest in VR but finds it nice for a few minutes knows MS swept in their set of VR headsets awhile ago. I'm guessing no one knows about the "Mixed reality" headsets they dropped in that depending on where you buy are cheaper than the PSVR or up to the Rift in pricing.... Yep they literally pulled a Windows ecosystem on the VR market... Let manufacturers do it's dirty work and we'll supply you with the guts.

2.) I don't think it'll(PSVR) ever reach anything beyond niche at best. The product itself costs $100 more than a BUNDLED PS4 system. Most consoles are purchased as they continue to get cheaper so it's not hard to see that pricing will be it's major drawback. You could make the argument after time pricing will go down. What makes you all think people other than PSVR fans will even care by then? It hasn't shown a strong initial acceptance so why would it pick up later? Don't forget the PS4 will still be dropping in price too.

I'm sorry, but the PS4 Pro sales in a year vs the PSVR sales told me all I needed to know about the next coming years for PSVR. Don't even get me started on how sony just outright refuses to release a big title for PSVR similar to RE7.. Had quite a few friends that after playing RE7 bought a PSVR to experience RE7 in VR.... Loved it and then realized they didn't receive that same experience across the majority of other titles and proceeded to return them back .. Is what it is.. it'll be nice to see how it'll turn out.. Would be cool to see how it shapes gaming if something positive turns out from it.

You're forgetting one important detail here: PSVR is a 1st generation VR headset. So 2 million sales in one year is fairly good, even with 70 million install base of PS4 users. Also, the price has been as low as $180 for PSVR bundles over Black Friday / Christmas sales. Many people are interested in VR, but don't have the money to get into it, so clearly price drops will (and have already) help a lot.

Comparing PS4 Pro sales doesn't make any sense, so I'm not sure what your point is there. There are other games on the same caliber as Resident Evil 7, and more games on the way for PSVR in 2018. Also PC VR has plenty of AA/AAA games.

Well Lone Echo (VR's highest critically acclaimed game), The Mage's Tale, From Other Suns, Arktika 1 and Wilson's Heart are some good examples.

Well, never heard of those so I had to look. None of them seem to justify $300+, at least to me. Not doubting they are good, idk, but didnt seem $300+ games worth to me.

And when the highest critically acclaimed game has an 89 on meta... thats seems hardly like a system seller. Its probably good but not worthy of the money they ask for

Everyone has different tastes. But a lot of these are appreciated far more when trying them for yourself. There are still many more solid games for VR, as well as plenty of multiplayer and social experiences.

An 89 score is impressive no matter how you look at it. Is it a system seller? Probably not, no, but still a very good game. Maybe one of Valve's 3 games will be a killer app, we'll see.

I'm not really forgetting any details here. 1st generation or not... If people think the product is good it will sell in massive numbers. 2 million out of 70 million is below 5% of it's install base. My reference to PS4 Pro sales was to relate to the fact was the PS4 Pro wasn't even a necessity. Not only that it wasn't even a big upgrade from the regular PS4. Yet, while costing more and releasing a month later after the PSVR it took 20% of PS4 install base in that same year. Obviously, this means the PSVR still isn't doing much to entice it's customers.

Long story short... PSVR will have to blow up exponentially soon or it will keep getting the same treatment from developers.

Better than that measly 1.2 million PSVRs sony sold... Guess we know which product the masses think is the real gimmick.

On the other hand... anyone who thinks the xbox one X won't outsell the PSVR are kidding themselves..
