Xbox One is the defacto system for Audiophiles. Are PC Gamers ok with that?

Are PC Gamers ok with the Atmos crumbs they get in comparison?

As if being second fiddle in HDR wasn’t bad enough

Meh, I'm ok with my DTS-HD still. Not going to be upgrading my receiver soon.

I am perfectly fine with my PC's audio capabilities.

Wasn't referring to my pc.

But the receiver isn't needed to decode any signal as the PC, PS4, and Scorpio all have the option to decode the signal and send it to the speakers (which means the receiver doesn't decode anything and those buttons will never light up).

Yea sorry I dont have a fancy name for my 7.1 LPCM sent directly to my receiver from my PC.

TC needs to get a clue.

I'd love to know the people using a 7.1.4 speaker + sub setup that isnt shite with their "value" priced console.

Can check bitrate or what signal the game supports.

Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA are lossless anyway. Why would a PC bother compressing something, lossless or not, if it doesnt have to.

Audiophiles use a budget mini-atx PC as their audio source?

And yeah it does. Gears looks amazing in 4K HDR, and the Atmos Ceiling Speakers really add a nice dimension. Can pin point wheen enemies are upstairs just with sound

Looks like Xbox One X is getting slightly more support but not by much and PS4 doesn't seem to be getting any at all. You may want to rephrase your question to the Sony fans.

Some of those PC games are having lots of Atmos issues as well. Most pC Gamers can’t ungrey the Atmos Option

I'm not sure what the difference is. Therefore, I am evidently not an audiophile and - coupled with the fact that only a few of those titles interest me - I am ok with it. I do have to wonder - how can those games possibly improve that much? It's not like PC gamers are playing with onboard mono or something. Is it enough to offset the inferior visuals and framerate?

You can stick any sound card you want in your PC. Sound quality from high end cards blows away anything that comes out of a console.

Using speakers to hear enemies... Is this 2014? Headphones are the best way to hear directional sounds.
