Hey Joel, thanks for the reponse. I'm assuming you mean restarting the system by holding the on/off switch? If so, I did that once..and still no menus.

Has this ever happened to you - I usually play on a 26 inch Samsung monitor using HDMI. I recently took my PS3 & plugged into the living room's 50 inch Sony WXRD Projection using the HDMI input.

I got no Sony menus..just a blank black screen. I pressed the PS button, then X, then X again. and my game started, BUT I never saw the menus before! Even the little Playstation symbol that comes up when you start a game, it didnt show, but the game played perfect!

Any insight?

If they want to be less scared they should just play the demo. Totally boring. I don't get all of this FPS...whats so exciting about pointing a circle at one after another futuristic looking guy in a space suit? Seriously...all these games are the same..."cover me while I hack this computer box", then you shoot waves of incoming clones..then move to a different point..where you will be greeted with more clones...the whole time just shooting..

I love PS3 and hope tons of people buy and love the game for the sake of the system...but I just don't get it.

DUDE, it's 'their', not 'there'. Don't be afraid to use a period, either.

I'm only in my mid twenties, but I'm starting to think our school systems are going down the drain...everytime I come on this board people are using 'to' instead of 'too' or 'you're' instead or 'your'.

I know I sound elitest, but if you want to be able to afford video games and have spare time, I highly suggest you learn basic grammar and spelling. Especially with how common email is at the workplace, people will just make fun of you behind your back.

I think my problem was clearly stated in my post. Are you confused? I think it's necessary to go off topic on this tangent because I don't think it's irrelevant, I think it's important. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I hope I answered both of your questions.

Let's get serious here, why would you actually care about proper grammar on GAMESPOT?!

I'm not going to go scrutinizing forum posts with the slightest spelling and grammar mistakes because it's plain stupid and ruins discussion (which is highly evident here). Now maybe if it reflected in their everyday lives in things such as essays and letters etc. there may be cause for scrutiny, but come on it's a gaming forum. Get a life and get over the bad grammar because coming on here and expecting every post to be grammatically correct down to the last "period" (as you stated) is ridiculous.

Listen, I could destroy your whole statement, but I won't bore you. All I would say is anything worth doing is worth doing right. I find it hard to believe that a person that at least UNDERSTANDS how to use correct grammar and spelling would come on a website and think: "hey, since I'm on GAMESPOT, I'm going to stop using commas...I'm just relaxing." That's retarded, and I don't believe it for a second.
