Yeah 40 million members that didn't have a choice but to install it or be denied games.
See steam was the same but it was worth doing it because Valve is independent and every time you bought a valve game through steam you knew valve was getting the money to develop more games and expand on idea's.
Choose to use steam, forced to used origin and Uplay, all these services are doing is just cluttering my desktop with game providers.
can you just confirm that you can skip the annoying talking between each race, it's very frustrating because I just want to get into the action without having to listen to idiots chatting about it beforehand/
so cover the cost of some game with a kickstarter from the community and get them to pay full price for it.. yep I can see activision getting right on this one.
I agree ACII was the best of the series so far. I was very impressed and infact it's one of the only games that I have got every achievement for, mainly because I didn't want to leave the world just yet. but the Expansion games didn't give me that need to get it all done. AC:Revelations was an average game in all honesty, the only thing that I have been playing a lot is the multiplayer because it's fun and I get total enjoyment out of killing people as assassin like as possible :)
I have seen 3D TV's and googles on sale and your looking at about £80 for a pair of glasses just to watch. I haven't seen how the 3ds works but if nintendo could adopt the "no glasses technology" to it's consoles then it might have a winner on there hands... The only thing about 3d is the glasses, the screen has to be blurred in order to create this effect so watching without glasses would be horrible if you have company over.. Also I think nintendo has it spot on with the 3DS, instead of forcing 3D onto it's customers it has a slide bar to make it optional and I think software companies and console makers alike should think of 3D as an optional medium instead of the next generation of videogames. The only problem that would make 3D the new format of gaming would be the greed these companies have, because there could be more money in making a 3D console as this generation starts drying up with sales.
I forgot to include shenmue some people are still so into the story that they want to know how it ends, from what I have seen Alan Wake will have an amazing story to it as well.
I think story should have more of an impact in today's videogames. When people say Half life has a good story I sometimes wonder what you are going on about, You can connect with Gordons world but you can't connect with gordon, you don't get any emotional response towards him because he says nothing and has no thoughts on everything that is going on around him so you may find it hard to connect. I find the same thing happens in Zelda, there is a story but it's the same one recycled so many times over that you really don't know why you bother... It's not an engrossing story and nothing really connects you to Link because of the same factors found with Gordon Freeman. For it's faults I found that the soul reaver series had a good story to it, you knew what was happening with the hero and everything around his world. RPG titles have really strong story telling capabilities, Final Fantasy titles can be like interactive novels. Even though story telling in videogames is still quite early, I think that building a universe is more important, Warcraft started out like a simple RTS game but over time you have found alot of stories pinned together and the lore can be very interesting. World of Warcraft doesn't really have much of a story inside the game but if you have played the other titles and read the books you will get much more of an emotional response say when you see arthas or Thrall.
