I did a similar topic some weeks ago.... maybe you can learn something by reading it.

Ultimately I ditched the ssd as it wasn't worth $100 for only 40gb and better boot times, instead went with 2xhdd in raid 0. Got normal gtx580 ($500) and i7 950 at $200. And got an asus sabertooth mobo. hope it helps :P
I'm building a new rig and really wanted to know if a ssd as a boot drive (~$100) was worth the downgrade from a 580($500) to a 570($350). Thxs
The ssd would be 40 gb, but anyways I'll be getting two 7200rpm hdd in raid0 (750GBx2=1.5TB).
I want to play crysis 2 at (hopefully) max settings, no aa, at 1080p. And other games such as Deus Ex, Batman AC, and any 2011 (2012?) game at max.
my cpu would be a i7 950 ($200).
Don't get the H50/H70. I looked at them but for the same price you can get top of the line air cooling which does a better job than this so-so water cooling. Get a Noctua NH-D14 air cooler. It's massive but it'll fit in that Coolermaster 690 case. I know because I have that setup!!!Artie-FufkinThe thing is I would then prefer installing "real" water cooling, but as said before, I would do that further down the road.
Your HDD will ultimately let you down... Get a SSD even a small 60gb just for windows, save all your games, apps and tools on a large HDD.JohnF111Won't a 40GB ssd be enought for windows? and which ssd do u recommend? (something cheap but reliable).
[QUOTE="SoxsMafia"]aaaaa!!! waiting! ...at this pace I'll never get a computer. That said... I still don't have the money (need to sell laptop first), so maybe I will be forced too wait, but I'm a positive dude so I'll think it this way: either I get early and enjoy pretty games before, or I get it later and enjoy even prettier games. Man with a 1500$ rig you'll be enjoying pretty games now and prettier games later.. lulz. Don't fall for the hype of having to own the newest tech, because it never ends. There's always something new coming out. What I meant to say.... but there is no point in rushing anything if I don't have the money yet... and if the new cpu's are out by the time I do have the money, Why not?[QUOTE="blaznwiipspman1"]
looks good and all but isn't the new cpus from intel and amd just around the corner? If you're going to spend that much money I personally would wait. I heard sandy bridge is coming out in February and AMD's new cpus in January.

In the worst case scenario the new cpu's are too expensive, but the i7-950 lowers it's price (not a bad option).

I have the H50 and it's wickedly awesome silent. The H70 looks awesome. Also as others have stated, it's not necessarily what computer enthusiasts would call true water cooling. However, it's still a nice cooler. Also, you should look at case fans that use Fluid Dynamic Bearing as opposed to ball bearings. It makes them a lot quieter. I use 4 Scythe S-Flex case fans and they are dead silent. Ghost_702I'll get either a H70 or full-liquid cooling when I start OC'ing the cpu. What I really wanted to know is if the H70 radiator can be installed Outside of the case, are the tubes long enought? About those Scythe S-Flexes, they don't seem to be an improvement over the included 2x200mm (500 - 1000rpm, 17 - 23 dBA) + 120mm (1200rpm, 17dBA). This fans are included in the CM Storm Sniper (yes sniper not scout as I'm going to buy the sniper). The Scythe-usa website lists it's 1200rpm fans to have 20.1dBA.
If a 850w corsair can handle GTX 480's in sli it will handle GTX 580's in sli. 04dcarraherSo you say I'm totally secure with a 850W 80+, even with sli and 4GHz processor and OC'ed gpu's. (won't oc anything at first, but will after some time for newer games)
I thought that a 850W power supply was enought for two (2) gtx580's in sli (and little overclock).... but maybe I'll get a 1kW just to be sure. How about a CoolerMaster power supply 1000w / 13cm Silent Pro?Do you want to SLI later? If so with a 580 I'm not sure that psu would cut it, if you are going to overclock as well a 1000 watt would probably be the way to go.
