@diskotheque @furrynic you think this is bad, on IGN the other day, they had a story about a town in Norway that had several months of darkness at once, that put up a massive mirror on a mountain to give their town square some light during the dark months...(!) How that is any sort of media related, let alone games, I will never know.
@CBN16 I can SO relate to that with Rockband/Guitar Hero... I'm a drummer, but couldn't for the life of me play the drums in these games. I just wanted to hit single pads as I know them to be. I couldn't handle the game asking me to hit the same thing for a different sound/area. It just wouldn't compute... I play a little guitar, yet found playing the guitar parts in the game much more palatable. How odd.
Much, much respect for this. I don't even play the game, and hell, it's made me want to go along and play it and buy that mech, even if I spend 10 minutes with it and never play it again. My own little girl is just turned 2 and I don't even know what i'd if the same happened to me. Very humbling.
@genjuroT I wholeheartedly disagree. I am on a very meager salary and have a wife who doesn't work, she's a stay at home Mum... my wages cover my mortgage, other bills etc, and leave very little money to spend on anything but groceries... and yet still, if I see a game that's a must-have, I can buy it. Even if that means saving in most cases, or putting it on a credit card if I really must have it right away, then paying it off... but I manage. As do many of us who don't see ripping off the devs who make us these experiences as something which is morally acceptable.
@VarietyMage if you watch the video, you can see the 3 protagonists are away doing their own thing as they switch between them, so they won't just be sat there "where you left them" so to speak. Whether you have choice as to what they go away and do, that hasn't been revealed... I suspect not and think the game will just let them go off and do what is appropriate for the character.
For me, I hope they DO keep the handling of cars introduced in GTA IV - whilst I enjoyed the more arcadey feel of earlier games, I much prefer that which they used in GTA IV once I'd got used to it... and you can totally drive the cars in all weather, you just can't mash the throttle and hope for the best like you could in the earlier games. You have to have a more considered approach when driving in the rain, as you would do in a real car.
@SauhlGood what do Sony and Nintendo have to learn from MS exactly? How to destroy their launch before it even started? How to disillusion almost every gamer out there who was looking forward to their new product? How to hire IDIOT executives that suffer from foot-in-mouth disease like no other 7-figure earning execs I have ever come across? Because yeah, I'm sure Sony and Nintendo can't live with themselves without possibly trying to follow that kind of example.
