@diggyphelps @jeff_t97 I have a buddy who works in Sony, that's all I'll say so as to not throw him under the bus....but Sony is in trouble and they aren't turning any kind of profit. Everyday my friend is expecting the collapse and no one is in high spirits because the whole job has now become..."so when is the day coming that we'll all be let go/out of a job?" Samsung has flat out murdered them.

@Xzen667 @ShadowNeverDies Money still passes hands and you've got contracts that aren't exactly open to the public...or at least not easily so. Also it makes sense anyhow as Bungie is trying to sell themselves to a new audience (Sony people) while Call of Duty has always been bigger on Microsoft so that's where that money goes. Also shared marketing means sharing the costs, timed exclusivity/buying exclusivity for a game can also be 'we are sharing the developing costs/we will handle marketing for the game'. It's all relative. And of course remember that the genius is that the Call of Duty people...are the Destiny people. It's all Activision when it comes to business decisions like that lol.

@Undertow207 @ShadowNeverDies A lot of people care about bundles, one of my buddies bought a second Xbox 360 because of the Halo 4 bundle because he wanted that console. A lot people especially gamers are suckers for stuff like a different colored/themed console. My point though was that money still passes hands for those bundles and bonus exclusives. The point is just because you don't care doesn't mean that others don't care...remember the number 1 rule in marketing...always remember most people are morons lol.

@Undertow207 @ShadowNeverDies Destiny's exclusive stuff on the PS4 is good for like a year right? They've also got the Destiny white special console. I didn't mean the beta -.-

@Undertow207 @ShadowNeverDies @Darkhol0w Like how it came out that Sony was planning the same exact policies Microsoft had for the Xbox One....until they saw the response that Microsoft got at their reveal event pre E3? And the point was it wasn't well known for the one day that mattered which was the day of those conferences, not to mention Versus for years was a Playstation exclusive game or at least treated as such. Sony is much better at PR than Microsoft to the point it's laughable. I think Nintendo trumps both in PR btw (the Wii U sucks) but their PR is brilliant. And I don't think Silent Hills is a timed exclusive, I just think it's multiplatform and no one is going to state that because if it was exclusive I feel like Sony would make that extremely clear as any company would....unless they don't like money/giving fuel to their fans in the message board wars.

@Undertow207 @ShadowNeverDies It is similar and serves the same purpose, to make more people buy your version of the game at launch...not in the long run.

@Undertow207 @ShadowNeverDies @Darkhol0w I agree if the property is popular enough you should just outright buy it, why I think Nintendo is smart in how it does it but to discount the strategy of timed exclusives isn't very smart. Timed exclusiveity works in two ways for Microsoft, it creates the illusion that true exclusives for Sony and Nintendo (quick examples Bloodborne and Bayonetta 2) aren't exclusives but timed exclusives and it means that they can treat games that are timed exclusives like exclusives without paying as much money.

P.S. Or it could simply be Microsoft bullying a bit because they've got a much bigger bank to work with than Sony.

@Undertow207 @Darkhol0w The only thing that's a debacle about the Tomb Raider timed exclusivity is that Microsoft revealed it was a timed exclusive when it was obvious the developer didn't want to reveal that information based on what they were saying. Why buy an exclusive and then tell everyone it's just a timed exclusive. Nintendo didn't do it with Razor's Edge, Sony trumped out FInal Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 2013 like they were exclusives...and hell Microsoft didn't do it with Ryse or Dead Rising 3. Hell Silent Hills probably isn't exclusive but Sony is being tight lipped on that because if that's the case...WHY TELL ANYBODY?

Not a defense of Micro$oft because they are just as guilty, but why does Sony get such a pass when it comes to flat out lying to and deceiving people. If they said that they were less concerned then fine but to say they aren't interested in buying game exclusivity is just flat out lying, unless making Destiny the tentpole of the E3 press conference was just some gag.

@PeterDuck I agree with the second sentiment, but that's because I believe like Nolan Levine has a tendency to bite off more than he can chew which turns some of his stuff like Episode 2 into just good games or movies rather than great games or great movies. It's why Inception to me is a mess and Burial at Sea episode 2 doesn't make a whole lot of sense beyond the setting up of Bioshock 1.
