I'm not saying this will be true as I haven't played it......but Bethesda hasn't been on a good streak lately. (ie Brink, Hunted)bblundellBethesda published those games... they didn't develop them. Anyway, I stopped reading the TC's post when they stated they were disappointed with Oblivion... which is still one of the best games of the gen.
Or lay $150 aside the next 3 mths, and be playing Skyrim on Ultra in time for Christmas....I do not think prices are too bad. They have actually gone down. You could play skyrim on lower setting for around $150 dollars.

Xbox 360 controller works fine, but it's wired. Why do you want wireless? How far do you plan on sitting away from the laptop screen?LordsLossI'm going to have the video streaming to my flatscreen some times, when I feel like playing from the couch... When I play at my desk, I'm more likely to use k/b & mouse no matter what I'm playing.
Yea but I highly doubt a mid range card is going to be able to handle this game max'd w/ 30+ fps. I'm sure it would still run, given that console gpu's are probably close to mid range at this point... but not max'd out. Um Console gpu's are below mid ranged...... they are low ended they are only a step above integrated graphics chipset any more. A 5830 is at least 5x faster then any of the console gpu's.... Plus on the Alpha testing many people playing BF3 with slower gpu's. Todays mid ranged cards are at least 7x faster then current consoles. Console versions will be playing with a mixed mash of mostly low and some medium settings.[QUOTE="Sgt_Hale"][QUOTE="gravitygamer"] just because it looks better it doesnt mean it gonna be harder to run..i think i decent rig with a quad core and a mid range graphic card will run the game maxed till 1080p. crysis had a crappy engine...04dcarraher
I'm not so sure on that... console configurations were considered high end when they came out just 5-6 yrs ago. Even Carmack thought as much... anticipating that console gfx & pc gfx were pretty much equal when he first started designing the Rage engine. Even now, console graphics are pretty much in line w/ the medium settings on most pc games, although the frame rates may be less consistent depending on the game.
This is why I generally buy a new console w/in its first year, and then wait 2-3 years to buy/build a new pc. If you bought/built your pc around the same time as a console launch... it's probably going to be 1-2 cycles ahead of console tech at most. To me, the advantage of gaming on a pc is the ability to upgrade tech mid-console cycle and enjoy even more out of gaming right around the time the excitement of a new console gen starts to wear down... but I still enjoy gaming on consoles and think it continues to offer a comparable experience.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it should be able to. I don't game on desktop, but I just ordered an m18x with the Radeon 6990m xfire... And it's based on the desktop HD 6870 gpu. It can run Crysis 2 DX11 on Ultra at 30-50 fps. Also runs Bad Company 2 at 100+ fps.So I think an HD 6850 CF stands a good chance of playing BF3 on Ultra if it's OC'd, and probably maintaining at least 30fps.Anyone think a radeon 6850 in xfire could max BF3?

Hi, getting my first gaming laptop and want to get a good wireless controller for it. Anyone use the Logitech F710? If so, how do you like it? If not, Id appreciate any other good suggestions...
I've already ordered a gaming mouse, but I suspect there are some games I will want a controller for. I usually only played rpg's and strategy games on pc, but now that I'm getting a decent system I'll probably start buying my action titles on pc too (ie... Assassin's Creed, Batman, etc...). So any suggestions you have for these type of games would be helpful.
