@idosofacility But there isn't just parry you can dodge and block. It's all just timing. If you don't time the parry just~ right you block. This video is a good showing of it

There's one constant with all these 'anti-violence in games' guys over in America. They all forget these violent games AREN'T MADE FOR KIDS. These stupid Americans (as well as other countries, but them not having a system like PEGI makes them worse) need to get their parents to wise up and stop buying games that aren't made for kids, for kids.

This moron has the balls to call the game developers child molesters even. It's not the game developers fault that these parents don't have the common sense to check what their kids are playing, especially when they're the ones buying them. God knows how many times I warned parents when I worked for GS and GAME about a violent game they bought their kid, they'd just say 'they've seen worse' or 'they'll end up playing it at their friends house anyway.' Then they have the nerve to complain about the content of the game.

It's NOT the game developers job to look after your kids, it is YOURS. Just because it's called a game does not mean it's for kids (or does that mean drinking games and Ann Summers sex games are also for kids?). Why should adults who sensibly enjoy these games be penalised for parents that can't be bothered/are too ignorant to take care of their own kids? They buy them any game without a care, throw them in a room and then sod off to the pub or other priorities they put higher than their own child.

I've played violent games from a young age, however it was always monitored. If there was one things my parents knew, it's what I could and couldn't understand at my own level. If they felt I was capable of understand a game or movie was make believe they'd let me play/watch it. If they felt I was still too young to understand a particular item, I wouldn't. Simple as that. And they also took INTEREST in what I was playing. Many times my dad and mum sat and watched me play my games, often my dad asking me to play so he could watch. (Though my mum got sick from how fast I was a lot lol).

Stop blaming the game industry for your inadequacy and lazyness and get a clue, these guys are just looking for a way to push the responsibility onto someone else so they don't have to deal with it. After all they wouldn't want spending time with their own children to eat into their busy conglomerate, bureaucrat, socialist(read as piss head) life style.

Mijati. Completely agree, it's not the games fault as it's not aimed for a kid to play. It's up to the parent to teach the child the difference between reality and fantasy, and right and wrong.

I've played violent games since a kid, but my parents taught me this, and knew how much I could understand. I've never gone around shooting someone or something. And to be honest, if a kid is taking things like games and doing it in reality, then theirs something wrong with the kid to start.

Also you can't really blame media in general because people have always been doing horrible things since the dawn of time. But the media likes to just blame games to cause an uproar.

I worked in game retail for over six years, until Game closed our Gamestation. But in all that time the PEGI and BBFC were always treated as law anyway. We could lose our job, be fined £5000, get a criminal record and even do prison time. So for any (responsible) retailer, nothings really changed. (All this was by an external group that would randomly test stores. The same that test shops for selling booze.)

Of course the parents would still buy their child an 18 game and think it was all stupid, but if you explained the content of the game to the parent 7/10 times they changes their mind but 9/10 at least they stopped to think about it. The other 1/10 it was some ass that said their son has seen worse stuff than GTA, Manhunt or Doom in his own home...okay o0...

In the end it's the parents responsibility, they should be the ones that insure their kids aren't playing age rated games. But when the parent isn't around, then the retailer has to pick up the slack, and not allow the kid to buy a game above their age.

As for banning/rating games. PEGI is more fair. The rules and people behind it were thought of with games in mind. BBFC is for films (British Board of Film Classification), they often banned games or gave poor ratings simply because they don't understand the difference between the medium. And you do interact differently with a game than a film.

These are so old, I already have one too.

We had them at our store when we openned about 5 years ago and we couldn't shift them. Ended up giving them away a few of years down the line.

Capcom are probably only giving them away because they found them gavering dust in their warehouse. Thought they would hjave tried a little harder, but it is Capcom. Still I suppose you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

This is a b.a.d article. I could go through and list a tone of detailed counter arguments, like home consoles taking just as long, if not longer to load (and masking it with a logo start up), comparison on games sizes and how I hate the casual game market. But I won't, this is just a nit-pick article from a guy who prefers casual gaming to pass a few minutes on the train. The Vita is a console, one where you can get into full-fledge real games and either while away a few minutes of days of high quailty fun. Sure there'll be people who still stick by the iPhone, but personally I don't WANT to run my phone battery dead from playing games, so no one can call me. If that's what you want to do, be my guest. Me? I'll be getting a PSVita when I can. Oh and if they were trying to take on phones, wouldn't they have made it a phone. They're trying to get some of that attention, but their market is still hardcore gamers.

To eagle3030: Not as far a I'd imagine, as the Skype runs it's own utility on the PSP. If you exit it, Skype disconnects. To everyone: Been using Skype on my PSP actively for about a week now and so far I've racked up just over 40 hours of calls. Man I'd hate to see that on my house phone o0; Also the quality is amazing, better than some mobile phones if you ask me. I can usually talk for 2 hours with out any trouble. If I disconnect, that's just because my room is a dead zone for my wireless connection. Using the Talkman mic, or even the PSP camera works great! Picks up everything. However you do need headphones like I said earlier. I didn't know anyway that can hold a conversation with their own voice coming back at them a thousand times fold. So the verdict? Awesome job Sony! Now just get some J-pop/J-rock stations on theOnline radio lol. XD
