Seems like Microsoft put a lot of thought on making this product as anti-consumer as they could. I am kind of shocked to see so much hubris after Sony's failure in this generation for the same reason. If these rumors are confirmed, I'll place my money somewhere else and I wonder how much success they will have under this model.

@Geminon Check out the first year for the DS and it was exactly the same. I am still somewhat skeptical of the Wii U success but it is undeniable the DS suffered a similar first year.

Although their technology is impressive, the iD team was never well regarded for their design skills. In relation to Doom, one of the main advantages was the distribution model. It was a game with very low requirements distributed as shareware. I first played on one of my professors computers and, soon enough, it was everywhere. Nowadays, they are looking for greater graphical fidelity, which is cool, but it is not in the spirit of the original Doom. If I could helm the project, I would like to move. As far as possible from Rage and make it accessible to as many people as possible.

Perhaps they are working hard 24/7 to turn this port into a mediocre game, which it would be a lot of improvement.

Sad but hardly surprising news. Disney officers stated, in several occasions, their lack of faith in the profitability of the AAA games industry.

@NTM23 @Ronaldo27 I really hate Ironside's replacement in Splinter Cell. It would make much more sense if Fisher just retired from field missions and keep the series with a new character. Unfortunately, Metal Gear can't do the same and Hayter will certainly be missed.

Metal Gear fans are now suffering what Splinter Cell fans have been enduring since last E3. What's happening with stealth games that everyone is replacing the established voice actors?

Personally, I've never played a Pokemon game. However, I can see how Nintendo can easily keep overperforming Sony and Microsoft for the next years by releasing games at budget price that can be enhanced by cheap NFC enabled figurines. They can release hundreds of Pokemons toys, as well as dozens from other lines, such as Mario, Zelda, etc.

@Sleeping_King Perhaps because GameFreak is a Nintendo subsidiary.

@MajinSquall That's Iwata's job. Miyamoto is doing what he should be doing, developing new games and concepts.
