TF2 is actually very good and definitely worth a second look.

Minus select games made by various developers(Blizzard and EA included), yes. But the games get added months after their retail releases. You can usually find the big names on Steam within a month of their release on other services.

780G is a better integrated chipset for light gaming, but you'd have to go with an AMD CPU which means a slight power trade-off.

ATi has been good ever since the HD 3850 and HD 3870. Right now it's arguably better than nVidia's GTX 260 and GTX 280 with the HD 4870 and HD 4850. Don't even ask about the HD 4870X2, it's just pummels anything.

Assume no. Unless stated, they might not have Mac compatible drivers.

Get a new video card. No reason not to get a HD 3870 when they're only $150. Not to mention the HD 4870 comes out sometime this summer. Both cards are made for Vista, unlike the X1950.

Yes, I have the same computer. If you have any space problems, rip out the front USB/Analog video ports and then reattach them ontop of the card when you're done.

You can even go dual slot, which is what I am waiting for with the HD 4870. The biggest problem with dual slot is the SATA connectors on the MoBo and HDs, but you can flip over the HDs and you can put left and right bent SATA connectors in the place of the stock ones.

Make sure your PSU has the required AMPs on the 12v rail(s), and I would take a look to see if you have enough room for a dual slot card. Sapphire makes a single slot HD 3870, you can find it on newegg for like $25 more than VisionTek's.

Did you even check on Best Buy's site?

I know Fry's has them, I've seen them in store there.

World in Conflict is great for LAN parties, Supreme Commander isn't nearly as much fun as it could be because of the long build times and similarities between factions, Command and Conquer 3 (and Kane's Wrath) are both fairly fun (though they tend to be better for 1v1 matches).
