terrell, ya just don't get it do ya?  Name a FP under 3k that is better...panny is a generic brand also...yet them and sanyo have that realm COVERED 10 fold.  Infocus has some high end gear, but ya know what...its overpriced:)  (and I OWN one)  Best Fp under 10K is probably the sony pearl/ruby.  How can you compare a 10K FP to a 2-3K fp?  Are they second tier...yeah, namewise, but they sell solid products reasonably that perform far beyond their
"name" expectations.  I demoed a Plinius Odean...if you know what that is...another generic name :)...I compared it to 2 other amps...lots of cable switching...lots of listening and ya know what....it IS 1 of the best NAMES out there in the 10-15K amp world...yet it didn't have one damn thing on my sherbourn 7/2100....not ONE.  Plinius owns a 1-2 tier amp...yet didn't catch me buying.  I even KNEW it was 11 grand, so placebo effect says it SHOULD be better...fact is, I didn't think so at all.

FP-wise-->Under 3K, sanyo is top tier...as is Panny.  Optoma is up there also, but the two I mentioned first are easily the 2 biggest sellers and that has to mean something:)

Wii, I'm assuming you have seen Fp's for business like functions.  I and 1000 of my guests would disagree:)  I've owned pretty much all tv versions(or have seen calibrated) and there is absolutely no way I'll go back to a lcd/plasma/dlp 40-60 inch tv for theater viewing. That is ME, but if room is a problem, them I vote to go with the biggest 1080i, 1080p set you can get...:)  grab a panny 900/100, sanyo z5, z4 chunk the extra cash into a nice SVS, HSU sub and kick back for some great gaming/viewing!

creeping..how dare you say I have Kefs:)  j/k!  No, actually they are Dali Helicons:)  Amazing clarity and probably my last stop in speaker shopping!  I've heard a lot of speakers and these were my favorites...the MS5's are great but the 3% increase in performance didn't justify the 13,000 price tag to me.  (yet they truely did sound amazing:)  mine are here-->http://www.theperfectvision.com/newsletter/tpv56/dali_helicon_400.html

minus the sub..I use the B4+ -->http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_10_3/svs-b4-subwoofer-9-2003.html

nice maingon.  You like the screen?  I know David personally:) (owner of carada)  Great guy and excellent value in the screen market!!  How you liking the SVS speakers?  Again, I know Tom Vodhanel, and Ron Stimpson (stimpson, vod Subs= SVS)  personally (creators/owners of SVS subs...great guys!)  I own the B4+ from them and had the 2039 pci (way back when they first started out:)  I have a buddy looking at speakers and wants to keep it under a grand...just spoke with Ron last week about them as a matter of fact:)  nice room!  PS, if ya know anything about FP's post a bit about the panny 100...as some just do not think panny/sanyo make quality HT equipment like mitsubishi (smiles)  :)

quick quote from projectorcentral-->

Conclusion

Not many projectors warrant a rating of five stars across the board. Even on high quality performers we can usually find some flaw or design limitation that causes us to knock down the rating in one or more categories. However, there is no justification for rating the PLV-Z5 any less than the full five stars. For a price of just $1,695 including a three year warranty, the buyer gets an extensive feature set, stellar image performance, and one of the best values in home theater projectors we've ever seen

Sounds good to me...does it to anyone else? :)

I stqand by my comment.  I'd say Sanyo's sales are top one or two in the Fp department under 3K.  Obviously you can't count a Runco FP as a competitor (some range 50-250K)  I'm speaking solely of affordable Fp's here.  Panny has had some very good players also...its a toss up.  IF you didn't know about Sanyos rank in FP's, how is one to assume you know anything about Fp's in general?  I have an Infocus...great FP, BUT all equals, the Infocus models competing with Sanyo/panny are higher in price and simply being beat in sales.  Am I brand loyal to Infocus...not one bit.  I feel their marketing has gone to heck, and the Sanyo's of the world are creating some great products for less money.  Goto the avs forum sometime..you may learn something.  Better yet, listen to someone whom KNOWS HT rather than speculate on products you have no clue exist.

terrell...here ya go.-->  your request has been granted:)-->http://www.projectorcentral.com/ax100u_plv-z5.htm

I suggested the Z4 because it is a very good FP for cheap.  Sanyo/panasonic are pretty much the tops for 2K-3K fp's and have been for a while now.

INVA-->opinions you want, I'll throw a few out there...remember, you asked.  As far as Bose go, our avsforum refers to them as "blows"...great marketing, but poor speakers:)  I still think the tv is small for 13'...not a big deal but I wouldn't be able to play on it being it would wrench my neck after a while:)  Good move to the basement, level off the set, and get it a bit closer and you'll be happier! :)

Inva...where are the speakers?  #2, yeah I agree too far away(and high) for gaming on such a small screen.
