@redhedjack: I think saying it has become a "mess" is seriously stretching it. Sure, Halo 5 wasn't the best in the series, but it was great in it's own right. Having a Halo arcade really means nothing except for the acknowledgement that the franchise is pretty old, popular, and established now. There are tons of these arcades attractions licensing popular franchises these days.
@Atzenkiller: You need to visit an arcade again. It's not the 90s anymore. They serve booze and are filled with huge attractions like this Halo game. One of my local "arcades" has a 100" Tomb Raider shooter arcade and tons of other large multiplayer games like this. It's a thing.
@BeefoTheBold: I'm not even sure what your point is. The point is that popular franchises are licensed to make these big arcade attractions these days. Being part of the story or canon just adds to the allure for fans, but means little else. I'm sure games like Aliens Extinction and new 100" Tomb Raider shooter are technically canon, but does anyone actually care about that? They probably just want to have a good time shooting things with friends, just like you want to have a good time racing with friends in Mario Kart.
Never thought about it, but Redbox is gonna be hurting if discs ever end up stop being used. I suppose there'll always be some sort of disc for movies, but possibly not games.
@Blk_Mage_Ctype: Those games are old and probably sold poorly initially; likely why it made sense to try to maximize profits where they can and port to other platforms.
