defenitely LBP Vita, Uncharted is great if you're a fan of Nathan, Gravity Rush...there are lots of great games to enjoy, just go ahead and download all the demoes...
1- To start with, the Xbox offers the same hardcore multiplat titles available everywhere, so if you are a core gamer with an xbox, third parties have got you covered.
2- Now, having my first statement in mind, I have to say that YES, MS did abandon the cores. Putting out their only 3 main AAA titles (Halo, Gears, Forza) is no where near enough of being dedicated to the hardcore. And I don't wanna talk about the term "rehashes" cause maybe fans of a sepecific title don't mind, sometimes I don't mind either if it's still a good title.
3- Kinect/Move integration. I don't mind them, some people love them, so i think there is no issue at all if they are used in evey game, BUT without changing or hindering the core controls. Just add it as an option for those who like it. Personally I did like motion controls in certain titles like SOCOM4, it really maked sense there, but adding it to games like inFamous 2 doesn't make sense at all, and so I liked how Suckerpunch only added it for the content creation part of the game but not as an actuall control option.
4- I think Nintendo and Sony are more dedicated to their core fans and gamers (I know the wii has been sleeping lately because of the upcoming wiiU) but anyways...Sony would be a better example at the moment, if you follow their exclusive releases, there is not a single year they don't have a great line up of exclusive AAA titles. You don't necesserily have to like all their games, but you can't deny that most of them are great, and even at the end of this gen's cycle they are still preparing promising new ips (example: beyond 2 souls, last of us).
So yeah, MS aren't doing a great job serving their hardcore gamers. The way I see it, this dedication and these exclusives are what set consoles apart, cause without the exclusives both the PS3 and the Xbox would just be another plastic box that plays games found anywhere else...
Please reply constructively.
[QUOTE="Sushiglutton"]Meh I think not. Have hardly heard PC being mentioned at all in the entire event. I don't think most people will draw the conclusions you did. If anything people will think how good games still look on the console (well that's what I believe they'll think). Jankarcop
Yeah but noone cares about mis-informed casuals, factually speaking those amazing games show cased on PC, and will only look that good on PC.
the "mis-informed" casuals have been buying consoles like the wii like cupcakes, and the few self-proclaimed knowledgable elitests and their PCs are becoming irrelevant. like @Sushiglutton said, in which conference did you hear anyone showcase, highlight, or indicate any extent of PC importance? none. I have a gaming PC and a PS3, but as you saw for example, Sim City was announced and shown twice as a core-PC game and a Facebook release. I assure you, the facebook one will be played by more people, but that's not considered of the core-PC-gaming, that's something a pc gamer, a console gamer, as well as a nanny babysitting some children can play. Whether we like it or not, saying stuff like "looks better, looks superior, technically superior" is not something relevant any longer. And if Watchdogs looks far more superior on PC, so what? how will that make a difference in the industry? would it matter to the millions of Xbox-only and PS3-only gamers? If you've been around reading and watching how the industry was going earlier, you'll notice that what's happened since the Vita's launch till now is the same thing that happened during the 3ds's launch. I bought the 3ds at launch while everyone was talking their heads off about how it's done for and it's going to die and that's the end of the world........now they're doing fine, we have great games and we're all happy. Now with the Vita, at least it launched WAY better than the 3ds, it had great games, awesome features, and was couple with some hiccups from Sony just like the 3ds had by Ninty....
I say go ahead and get one, cause come this E3 I am sure everyone will be drooling for what's to come for the Vita. I already got it and never looked back...I am one happy portable gamer...
Well, any PS3 exclusive will do, cause I hate to break it to you but Halo stopped being epic a looong time ago. Anyways anything off this list is better than Halo:
Twisted Metal
Starhawk
Journey
Dust 514
The Last of Us
The Last Guardian (just wishing for a 2012 release).
Even a couple Vita titles can do the job...
