@SpencerPenfold because they think it'd be a good game yet don't want it to take the spot from a game they hoped would have returned to the feel of the series they loved. The series that turned the final fantasy brand name into the cash cow it is. I really like the look of the game but it means that its even less likely the game i wanted from them most will not happen. Clearly im not alone in that.
@disneyskate @Quinzark @hilikus00 @lostn it's not about failing to accept change it's about making something totally different & calling it the same. I didn't say i didn't enjoy the games i said they shouldn't have been labelled as part of the numerical series. I am re playing 12 at the moment, I don't mind Vaan & i like Balthier a lot. Enjoyed the system for XII too but i don't want it to be a replacement for the series i like even more.
@disneyskate @Quinzark @Evil_Saluki So did I. in fact im replaying it at the moment. I don't think it has the same feel as the earlier ones though, should be given a name similar to when they named crystal chronicles. Tie it to the series but not name it a successor to X [eleven should have been FF:online also]
I like the look of FFXV but at the same time i feel like it's taking up both resources & a title that should belong to a 'real' FF game such as ff3 through to ffX. A new IP is great but dont pretend it's got anything to do with the series we want to play when we buy a FF game :/
@SpencerPenfold because it's being billed as part of a series it has nothing in common with. They could have used the FF name & replaced the number with a word or phrase. That'd get it less hate from long time FF fans who hold out on hope for a revival of the games we fell in love with.
