Not that surprising, honestly. The show's quality and ratings have been free-falling, and he's an in-demand actor. With the main character leaving the show, it's time to wrap it up. It was probably too late to finish the series this season, so they should do an 8-10 episode Season 10 to give the series a proper ending of some sort.
