Hands down I have to say Assassins Creed Brotherhood - set in Italy. The music really helps set the atmosphere too. And Batman Arkham Asylum - good atmosphere & graphics. (I bought Crysis 2, but am playing ACII before I get to it, so I don't know about that one till I play it).
I have the same problem in Venice with a church viewpoint . . NOTHING works and I'm seriously annoyed. There's a tiny brick ledge in the center that you hang onto & above that is a square white floral decoration, but he can't move or jump up so you're stuck. Going around the thing doesn't help any becuz 2 sides of each church tower are identical; one side you can't climb at all, the other has that floral disk thingy & he won't move up to it no matter what you do. Grrrrrrr - crap like this is so frustrating. Great game but I detest being stuck.
