"...preorder ... grants exclusive access to three in-game gear items that boost combat abilities, $500 bonus in-game currency, five lock picks..."

It's funny, it used to be called 'cheat codes', which you typed in to get ahead in a game without actually doing anything for it, and then you'd feel cheap and unrewarded after 30 minutes of fooling around with cheats.

But nowadays, what would be considered 'cheat codes' in the past (since it's not a regular part of the game), we pay for in pre-order form and somehow feel gratified for getting these things. For shame :(

We only have ourselves to blame, for buying our way to what the industry has now accepted as standard: milking dlc (like a new character costume for two dollars), blind-order dlc passes, and big pre-order bonuses just to get you to pay for something blind (not knowing if it'll be any good).

Don't get me wrong, there's some great worthwhile dlc out there, but most of the industry is pushing out crap and milking everyone dry for getting said crap (not talking about this game, just in general), it's kind of saddening.

@buccomatic I couldn't resist but to check out what you were talking about, so I watched that part again. Seeing that connection to pac-man put a smile on my face, thanks. :)

Why do they run like they're dragging a 200 pound potato sack tied to their legs with a chain?

:(

Loved the trailer, very refreshing and different than most. Hoping that the actual game will be just as refreshing and different than most of the crap we get nowadays, most signs point to: it should be.

@RPG_Fan_I_Am Interesting, and I actually agree with you.

The thing with Porsche Unleashed that I recall though, is it wasn't like Pro Street or Shift at all, for me, it was a nice blend of what we got now, without over the top antics.

Of course, this is mostly my nostalgia talking, but Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed (NFS 5) is the only one like it in all of the NFS series, NFS 3 and 4 are the closest resemblances; they took a completely different direction after those three games. Of course, one game does not make another better or worse, they really are all just that, different.

Seeing that Aston Martin fly through the air so high at 00:57, makes me think how much of an arcade racer Need for Speed has become. I mean really, take a close look, it's practically flying :(

Now, before anyone gets upset, I don't hate the recent Need for Speed games, I actually enjoy them, they have their fun and have their charm. But, EA... I'm gonna let you finish, but Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed was one of the better games of your time.

This is just my opinion of course, I just really liked Porsche Unleashed. That game wasn't ultra realistic, and I never said that's what I want all Need for Speed games to be, but it was a good blend between fun and realism, it was just a great game.

You know, some people are saying that "it wasn't their fault", but it really was. Even if he saw it "by accident", he still used the info to his team's advantage and hoped no one would notice. If you're going to be a public icon for people to look up to, I'd rather have someone who prefers a clean fight, and knows that a true 'win' is when the odds are against you, not for you.

This really does show character though, and in fact, they should just do this in ALL THE SPORTS. That is, what they should do, is place all the info needed to 'cheat' or have an 'unfair advantage' right behind all the players, and if you can't control yourself and look, then you don't deserve to be a pro and you get the BAN HAMMER. Sportsmanship, it's not just a word you throw around for no reason.
