It only ever tells you to punish criminals and for women to dress modestly. Honestly, if that's those are the only thing you're willing to see into Islam, then you have an extremely narrow minded way of looking at it.

spliffstar12

what if women chose not to? kill them? justify this through honor killings? does it call for the male members of the family to beat them and control them? if islam does not say that, then i wonder where folks get those ideas from.

i really want to know.

i know that the bible says a lot of things, but at least a majority of the christians openly ignore the bible. i can't say that about followers of islam.

its unfortunate.

like i said before you are equating what **** up third world countries do to the beliefs of all muslims....

i agree with you on that one.

[QUOTE="PRowcester"]the love for that religion - that tells people to stone homosexuals to death, and cut of limbs of thieves and subjugate women - on this forum is overwhelming. oh well....its the internet, nothing ever makes sense here. SpinoRaptor24

[QUOTE="spliffstar12"] first off your questions are stupid no offense.... your on a computer arent you its called google if you want to know why women wear head scarves.... also idk if you have ever met any Muslims before but im assuming you haven't if you think none of them adapt to the cultures of the countries they live in and not all Muslim women wear head scarves if they do they choose toNayef_shroof

no offense, but you are generalizing. which means your arguement is stupid.

women are forced to wear a cloth on their head in saudi arabia, iran, and in a lot of places in pakistan. in fact when angelina jolie went to pakistan as an ambassidor, she was forced to wear a cloth.

now imagine, if a woman from one of those were to come here, and she was forced to take off her cloth off her face. my my...imagine the controversy.

bascially, its ok for them to tell us what to do and how to behave, but not for us to tell them how to behave on our lands.

like dubhai, they put up signs telling the foreigners how to behave. but we cant tell the muslims how to behave. that would be discriminating.

double standards at best.

Look, your extremely ignorant on the issue. Dont comment about anything unless your actually informed about it. BTW, women can choose whether or not to wear the scarf, which isnt a symbol of oppression, rather, a symbol of modesty...

I love this. The moment I start questioning, I am ignorant. Where as you are the enlightened soul here.

Well, I'll say there is at least one woman who is forced.

But I guess according to you, she is immodent and a slut. Yeah sure.

I've not really heard much in the way of valid questions directed at Muslims in this country. Why don't you favor us with one?

spliffstar12

why do you think its ridiculous to question their religion? yes yes we all know about freedom of religion and all that, but...folks from this one religion do not ever adapt to the culture of the countires they live in, yet expect special treatment. why do you think that is.

also, can i consider some of their practices outlandish? such as wearing a cloth to cover their women faces and so on. so that men should not see the faces of women because they maybe sexually aroused?

i am just wondering. that does not seem normal social behavior to me.

but of course, none of these are valid questions to you because you are so in love with their religion. oh well.

Of course, if a Christian were to believe something out of the ordinary...ah, then its alright to question.

It's the Feds that pressed charges, not the state.

psychobrew

well, as long as people are ignorant about how things work, they can always blame the country of America, not knowing that America did more to these people than their own countries did.

Like what?

for starters women can drive here. women can go out of the house without a male companion and dont need a male guardian's permission. women are not considered incapable of making decisions. oh those are just some of the things.

also we don't stone homosexuals to death here. in spite of what koran or any other religious book. so...i don't know. i just get the feeling this is a better country than say...all the muslim countries?

You're right, those aren't valid questions. They are spoken out of ignorance and completely disregard the millions of Muslims to whom your premise does not apply to.

ah ok then. because you gave me your personal assurance which came from supreme knowledge, i should completely change my world view, now that you said so.

interesting to note is, you never answered my question. you just said they are invalid. i sense i may have asked questions to which you cannot come up with a proper response. but of course, according to you, i am ignorant, and totally worng for loving the great nation that is America. because on OT, if you love America, you are a racist conservative christian who hates homosexuals muslims and other religions.
