To moneymatterz:
You sir have NO idea what you're talking about. Serving is a dirty, tiring, and difficult job. Customers are demanding and often rude, most (like you) having absolutely no idea what it actually takes to do the job, how many things you must keep track of, and how physically tiring it is. I have been a Chef for 14 years and I for one applaud the waitresses, it's dirty job, but someone has to do it.
Also in some places (like here in Canada) wait staff is allowed to be paid less than minimum wage because it is assumed they will make tips. Without those tips, it is not worth it to do the job, and these people make next to nothing. Even at minimum wage it is hard to live.
So tip your server people.

Obviously fake post, as any self respecting chef has nothing but contempt for the wait staff. :P
Anyway, yeah, what a bunch of a******s. As others have said the standards in North America are that the bulk of the wait staff's pay is made up of tips, and it really is a tough, s***ty job at the best of times.
