WHAT THE FVCK are the Dodgers thinking? Kershaw on 3 days rest? I hope they get eliminated just for the incredible stupidity.

Master_Live

It makes perfect sense when facing elim... no wait, they're leading the series.  It's not a must-win game.

Okay, it's no big deal since he didn't really work much last ti... no wait, he threw 124 pitches last time.  That's a lot of pitches for only 7 innings.  The final box score says he dominated, but that was a very shaky brand of dominance.  Hitters were working him into deep count after deep count.

Well, they needed him to stay out there last time because it was a close ga... no wait, they had a comfy 5 run lead after 6.  There was no reason to bring him out in the 7th, especially if there was ever a chance of starting him on short rest.

What the hell are they doing?

Jordan said in his prime he could beat James but Kobe might give him a go?PSP107

Jordan has also proven himself to be one of the all-time worst assessors of talent.

Whether it's one game, best of 3, or whatever; I don't care.  I just love the idea of forcing the wildcard teams to play each other to qualify for the real postseason.  Winning the division actually means something now.

[QUOTE="-Halftime-"][QUOTE="monkeytoes61"] Yeah, I suppose you don't have to watch them all. And it doesn't help that the Mariners are on an eleven year dry spell with no playoffs. I hate to be fairweather, but that doesn't make baseball season fun. monkeytoes61

It definitely doesn't. Nothing is fun when there has been a drought of that long. I also think Seattle is more of a football and basketball town as well though.

Seattle is a "Whoever is winning" town. Nobody goes to Safeco anymore. But in 95 when they went on that amazing run, the Kingdome was packed.

In 2010, I got tickets to a Seahawks game for 40 bucks. Today, you won't find anything under 100.

The year before the Sonics left, they were 28th in attendance because they weren't any good, yet people are still bitching about it around here. Seattle has some of the worst sports fans I've ever seen.

Comment on the last sentence:  Sonics attendance tanked only after Clay Bennett bought the team, and it became blatantly obvious what was going to happen.  They sucked before the OK turd came in, but ticket sales were still in the 90-95% range.

Nfl just moved Raiders chargers game on Sunday to 830pm. Guessing A's have a home game that day?

Chutebox

No.  Tigers and A's play Friday and Saturday.  Sunday is a travel day for them.

But I guess it takes a solid 24 hours or so to convert the field from baseball to football.

Healthy D-Wade > James Harden

Sorry Durant

Jagged3dge

Silly comparison.  Healthy D-Wade retired 3 years ago.

I can declare myself the world champion of frog-throwing, but that's still not the equivalent of Americans declaring themselves as the world champions.  If you meant something like "teams and players declae themselves world champions" it would be more accurate, just saying "Americans" implies much more.

thegerg

Teams, players, fans, media... How many Americans need to declare "World Champions" before you'd accept the statement?

[QUOTE="thegerg"] "I do think its hilarious that the US invents sports and then declares themselves world champions without playing anyone from outside the US " What sport are you talking about?thegerg

.

That's a newspaper declaring a team world champs, not Americans declaring themselves champs.

American player. American newspaper. American team.  Here's the ring they gave themselves:

[QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"]American football is actually very popular in the UK. I do think its hilarious that the US invents sports and then declares themselves world champions without playing anyone from outside the US :lol:thegerg
