I wouldn't touch it unless it's free.

don't be greedy, Capcom. 4.8 mil is VERY good, considering the mixed reception the game got. Then again, we're sadly living in an age where sales number are oftentimes in inverse to the quality of the product...

Am I the only one who thinks that they REALLY should have gone with Donald instead? He's no Kratos (thank god!), but his explosive temperament would've been much more interesting than the bland, goody-two-shoes Mickey.

I wish Spector the best for his future. After all, he did made some of the best memorable games of my childhood.

@LinkLuigi

according to the article, this Dark Arisen version will also include the original game. There should be no need to re-buy the original if you no longer have it.

$40 is acceptable, IMO. There was a time when expansion packs cost around that much (20-30+ bucks) because they were massive original games in their own right, e.g. expansions to Baldur's Gate 1+2, Neverwinter Nights, and Dragon Age 1. And considering people also get the original game with this one, it's a steal.

And besides, it's Capcom. I'm just grateful they're not breaking down these contents into individual DLCs and charged them $10 apiece. And before anyone mention it, yes, I know they already did release lots of (worthless) DLCs for DD. That $40 price should be justified if the new contents ARE indeed huge and diverse (instead of just lazy palette swaps or copy-pasted dungeons). From the looks of it, though: 25 new enemy types, 100+ new equipments, new skills, areas, gameplay enhancements, even an entirely new language track are certainly not something to sneeze at.

I'm definitely getting this. DD is one of my favorite games of 2012. All things considered, this seems poised to be one of the few, more worthwhile game additions to come out from Capcom's kitchen.

looks like the microtransactions will be the true horror in Dead Space 3 instead of the game itself. Talk about killing enemies by whipping out your credit cards.

IMO, Alice: Madness Returns as a game, was disappointing. But as an experience, it's still one of the most mesmerizing games I played in recent years. Retcons on the first game's story notwithstanding, A:MR had great characters, captivating script, powerful voice acting, and an intense, mature story. Too bad the gameplay was such a slog and it lost many of its potentials due to rushing (which was EA's fault, apparently).

excellent read. Thanks for the heads up, Carolyn. I never played Zork, but I grew up in the 90s playing nearly all of Sierra's text-based adventure games (their trademark Quest series) and the classic Ultima. There's something about well-written script and the power of imagination that really helped create some of the most memorable gaming experiences in my childhood. I'll definitely give Twine a try.

@buccomatic

please read people's posts carefully before commenting, because you seemed really grasping at straws to try to come up with something to say. He clearly said "like in TES", The Elder Scrolls games, where you create your own customizable character as the protagonist.

And as for your question directed at me, I clearly said "if the trailer's any indication". Because it focuses so much on the woman, it's my guess (GUESS, remember, I could be wrong) that she will be the game's protagonist. And please don't tell me you've never heard the term 'anti-hero' before. Video games have lots of characters like these, e.g. Kratos, Agent 47, Kane and Lynch, etc.

@JehutyReborn

Maybe, maybe not. I just assumed that she will be the protagonist because I'm guessing it might be like the Witcher where you have a fixed protagonist that you develop throughout the game. Or you might be right and it will be more faithful to Cyberpunk 2020, with customizable character classes a la TES.

We'll see. Either way, it certainly captured my interest.
