You can't directly use a 360 controller with a DOS game. I don't even think DOSBox has support for joypads. Check their official website for documentation/ask on their forums.simardbrad
With a USB adapter that allows windows to see it as a directx controller YES dosbox does support gamepads and you should beable to use one. Not all work so I can't be sure it will work with a 360 controller. My PS2 adapter gives me problems in dosbox with using a PS2 controller. It does detect it in the dosbox window when it starts up tho.

Do the math 4 cpus vs 7 and a faster bus than any Intel CPU and actually the PS3 cell isn't the full cell CPU. IBM has 16 core and soon to be 32 core cells. They will be used for IBMs new blade servers so if there was no advatage to this architechture the leading company in computing wouldn't be using it.

You know, being a new PS3 owner, this is the kind of crap that pisses me off!! I own a 360 (which died last week BTW, thanks MS. It's on it's way back!) and I own a PC (a very nice PC at that) and I think it's bad business to pick sides when you're a 3rd party developer. I mean now Sony fans are going to think twice about buying products from Valve since Gabe openly admits that the PS3 is inferior to the 360 and PC. The PS3 has a lot of potential that has not been explored or exploited. And it's not fair to judge any system from it's first year games. Remember Gears of War didn't come out until almost a year after the 360 launched. I can't wait for 2008, the PS3 will finally get the respect it deserves. I'm proud to own a PS3, but I'm also proud to own a 360 (when it gets back in mid November :() and a PC. I'm a gamer and that's what it's about!

I need help getting down off my soap box now! :D

Exactly I used to play nothing but games I bought on steam on my PC I have all the HalfLife and Halflife 2 series and their mods and now I'm never going to buy anything from Steam/Valve again. Waaaa it's hard to do but yet evey other developer has figure it out now. The PS3 is closing in on CrapBox's sales and we're just going to be stuborn.  IBM has put alot of money into the Cell not just Sony IBMs newer servers use the CELL it's not going anywhere Devs have to get used to it that more and more CPUs will be built in this fashion.  Valve you lost a customer I'm never buying another game through steam again.

Thease guys are idiots you can goolge replacement parts for PS3 and there are tons of places selling them a new blu ray pickup costs about 60 bucks. If its just the eject mechinism I can fix it for you for 30 bucks and you pay for shipping message me if your interested. I'm a techinican for univeristy of pennsylvanina i work on equipment way more complex and costs in the hundred of thousands so a ps3 is a piece of cake to work on. I've taken mine apart a few times for cleaning. I'm assuming you took yours apart while the disc was still in it and cant get it to eject or insert right again. If you took yours apart then i assume you could put one in your self just use google ppl are stupid if they say you can't get parts from anyone but sony and no they arn't blackmarket. God you people make me laugh.

All user created content for the PC will be convetable to the PS3 version just by using a simple tool and moving it off the pc with a flash drive to the PS3. I would hope you could do the same when the 360 version comes out instead of having to pay for them.
