The first FPS I ever touched was probably Doom, then I mingled a little bit with Blood(I remember it had the Plasma pak).

These were when I was a kid and I played them at my friends' for a very short time.

The very first FPS that I actually played pretty seriously was Project IGI, just after my parents bought me my first PC, in 2001, for getting in high school.
