plug stuff in see if they respond at both ends properly..

I need something to test over 100 inputs and it doesn't work like a regular keyboard. Even with the proper software, not all the inputs are mapped for use. That's why I want a test program to just hit every key, slider, and knob really quick to see if it works. I don't have Omnishpere on a portable computer, but even then I'd have to remap controls for awhile. I need to quick test before I buy.

Is there a program I can download to check the inputs to my PC on say...an Axiom USB Controller? I'm seeing some good prices but I want to make sure everything works on a used one.

not to sound dumb, as I do see you realized a need for a better heatsink.

but are you getting a Windows OS, or do you already have that in mind.

A few people have asked in the thread, but I don't build with an OS. I have one already.

If you're looking for portability, then get this case instead. Mainly due to the fact that it has a handle so you can carry it quite easily.

As for the rest of your build, change the following:

- Change that power supply, as it is known to be plagued with issues dealing with voltage regulation and overall reliability (TR2 series specifically, not Thermaltake in general). Get this combo instead. Not only will you get a more reliable power supply, you'll also get the 5770 with the reference heatsink, thus removing any fears of the heat dumping into your case. Add the promo code 'sept10,' and you'll get an even bigger discount on that power supply.

- Change the hard drive. Considering the price of it, there's no harm in upgrading to a faster 500GB drive, like this Samsung HD502HJ.

- Combo your processor and motherboard up for more savings.

- Use the savings to get a GeminII or NH-C12P for CPU cooling. And a 120mm fan for the front if your budget permits.

- Might want to add an OS if you don't have one on hand already.

Gemini II is the cooler I was looking at actually. And yeah, I'm hopefully filling out the case with fans. Thanks for the heads up on the PSU. I'll look into some of those changes.

That 5770 is going to max around 60c under full load. Add in the limited air circulation and smaller dimensions and that may go up 5c. Still well within operational threshold. The cpu you have gets around 65c under full load with stock cooler. That may get up to 70c with less airflow and smaller space. If you can fit a H-50 in that case or a decent air heatsink that should take your cpu load temp down to 55c-60c. Temps should not be an issue unless you plan on OC'ing.freesafety13
I wasn't really planning on it. I also planned on putting all the fans i could in it, of course. Cables permitting. I'll ask about my better cooling options when I go to buy tomorrow.

EDIT: My main rig can get all my OCing needs out of the way. I want this PC for a mobile PC more than anything else. Hauling my 45 lb. rig around that's the size of a small person isn't too fun.

Best place to look online for a wide variety of heatsinks.freesafety13
The BIGGEST thing I worry about here is temps. I wish I could find a good idea of average temps on the things I plan on putting in it.

What heatsink do you plan of fitting inside a micro-atx case? I wonder if a h-50 will fit in there?freesafety13
I was recommended one earlier, I just can't remember. It was pretty low profile when I saw it.

ntxawghaam
Oh yeah, I KNEW I was missing something. I had an aftermarket cooler on a build I did earlier similar to this.

Tell me if I'm missing anything, or if anything won't work with something else. Always nice to have a fresh pair of eyes before buying.Build
