I've had various science teachers, who have done the following:
- Various alkali metals in water
- Large chunks of alkali metals into the school pond (resulting in at least a 1m high water explosion)
- Burning a baloon full of hydrogen
- Been unsure of how to operate a large cylinder of hydrogen, and resorting turning the dials randomly
- Lighting a match when there is a chance that the reaction has filled the room with hydrogen
- Burning magnesium (that's tame)
There's more, but I can't remember everything.
