Seems like they finally made a video game out of 12-year-old me's nightmare that caused me to stop watching DBZ.

It's definitely something new with the property, could be fun.

@mpl911: It's one of the few truly bipartisan things that can bring us all together these days: a fear and loathing of Facebook.

@YukoAsho: To be frank, I don't really see the "impact" of the GBA being particularly great. Sure, it had some excellent games, and sure, it was a pretty dang good handheld. I still have my original GBA and GBA SP. But it was just an iteration on the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color. The SP added a much-needed light and clamshell design which makes it the definitive Game Boy Advance, so there should be no argument about it being placed the highest of the GBA models.

However, the DS changed what we thought handheld gaming could be, had every bit as great a library as the GBA, and the DS Lite remains to this day one of the greatest designs for a handheld ever - far better than the GBA SP.

Then, the Switch did it again by providing a real reason for a consumer to buy a handheld gaming console over something like a smartphone or tablet by combining console and handheld functionality. It's successful because of this. Do I think it had the same impact as the DS? Debatable. But the GBA? For sure.

@illegal_peanut: Pretty much came here to echo exactly what you just said.

I could see an argument for the original Game Boy being in the top 3, but the DS or Switch should certainly be #1. I mean, the Game Boy Advance SP is cool and all, but please.

@traviscurtis: I can literally get all these games and more for free right now, and play them anywhere.

Nintendo needs to make as many games as possible accessible for a reasonable price point in order to compete with the mountains of free, yet somewhat obtuse software out there.

They are not doing a good job of that.

@Barighm: True. And obviously no mention of Street Fighter II, which has sold significantly more than 10 million. Very poorly researched article.

@r3gn4r: If it were being offered in a vacuum, I'd agree with you. However, this is competing with dozens of other monthly subscription services, from GamePass to Playstation Plus to non-gaming ones like Netflix and Disney+.

Once you factor in other monthly bills the average person has (rent/mortgage, phone, internet, power, debt payments), adding another $4.16 per month can seem like quite a bit. Monthly payments add up fast and are the best way to stay poor.

So, wait a minute. This article is confusing. Is it $50 per year, plus $30 on top of it? Is the expansion pack an extra $50 per month (amounting to a staggering $600 per year)? What is the actual price being advertised here?
