I seem to notice a decent amount of notoriously heavy smoking nations showing up on the bottom of that list.
Ever been to Japan or Italy? The Japanse diet isn't really cheese burgers and Italians favours quality or quantity.
That really has nothing to do with my statement which was meant somewhat humorously as I didn't bother to go into some of those skinny nations having rather shocking suicide rates as well.
As far as obesity for those countries goes (and anywhere else for that fact), it really has more to do with a culture of portion size and in between meal snacking and not content nor quality. It doesn't matter at all if I eat a big fat juicy cheese burger every damn day...that's really more of a heart health issue. What matters is what I eat with it and if I am constantly snacking between meals. Generally when people first come to U.S., they are rather stunned by how large our meals are at a typical restaurant.
