I think that the only reason that they would be charging is so that they could maintain such a large game (256 players at once) and make it great. If it improves the online capability of the game, then I say charge. Subscriptions are why games like WoW have become so popular. Blizzard is able to maintain their servers so that the quality is high. If MAG (assuming the article is indeed talking about MAG) is able to maintain high quality with 256 players playing at once, I'll be glad to dish out a monthly subscription for it.cebcubs1

Investment to keep a mmo update and running is far more costy then a normal game like MAG. Even though mmo's monthly fee is a boat load of crap. Blizzard makes profit when you buy a game and they make THAT much more profit with monthly subscription, it never cost that much to upkeek their server.

Downloading sample of a movie (such as trailers), is legal in Canada, downloading complete movie is illegal though, much like everywhere in the world. It is ture that there is a big piracy problem in Canada though.
