@NeverMore0: They're the truest form of RPGs. You know, like PnP RPGs or later CRPGs, the original form. What you mean are modern action adventures or action RPGs. And yeah, that's actually a pretty different kind of game. For CRPGs you need to activate your own imagination instead of just consuming what's visually presented. But it's not that hard. Kind of like reading a book where a lot of stuff is created in your mind on the fly.

@planetgloom: The game works with the Xbox 360/One controller out of the box without any work needed on your side.

So yeah, I guess you did somthing massively wrong, I'm afraid. Maybe you should give it another try.

@PETERAKO: True. But let's be honest here. The open world in TW3 consists mostly of empty and boring vistas - great looking and feeling and very well designed (and organical) vistas, but still empty and boring ones. And the combat is pretty repetitive as well. I love the witcher games and I've played TW3 for more than 150 hours but hey, combat can become tedious and boring after some hours. DOS2 offers way more variety in its gameplay and it offers way more creativity. It's just brimming with opportunities and flexible openess while the witcher games are way more "by the books". Great games and masterfully crafted games in their own respect, but they still haven't mastered open world and its actual possibilities. DOS2 though is damn close in terms of open world design.

@GiveMeSomething: Reviews are not a majority vote, dude. They represent the opinion of the respective reviewer. Not more, not less. Get over it.

@iskaroth: What parts of DOS1 were mediocre in your opinion? The story and characters? Well, they're totally different in DOS2, on a whole new level. Storywise you can't really compare DOS1 to DOS2.

Combat is beyond serious criticism though. You hardly find better turn-based tactical gameplay in the video games world. And that's true for both this game and its predecessor, just with the small fact, that it's even improved in DOS2.

@mdinger: Try playing on Explorer Mode until you learn better tactics. Mastery comes with knowledge and experience.

@DrYuya: Try harder, mate. You can play this game with a controller sitting on your couch.

@eliminatorpaige: If you deleted the GS review from metacritic - you'd still get a 94 meta-score. Must be bad/invalid though because reasons.

@cboye18: It will certainly take a few months until the console version for DOS2will be released. So why not playing DOS1 in the meantime? It's true, the story wasn't that great, but the games was amazing anyway. Just give it a try.

@silv3rst0rm: It does. The dialogue is on the point and often pretty short (without being bad, quite the opposite) - and not bloated like many of those in e.g. Pillars of Eternity.
