Roach does carry the silver sword in that shot. You can see the pommel on the right side if you look carefully enough.

@doremonhg9x:

Steam is not a monopoly. It's just so much better than the competition that nobody has any interest in choosing another product - as long as they're not forced to do it against their will. Epic knows that very well and instead of investing serious dollar in building up a client and service that could really compete with Steam - like they could with all the mony from the online games and Tencent - they took the cheap, easy and disgusting way of making games exclusive to their crappy software. The consumer surely doesn't win anything here.

@asneakypoptart: Compared to Epic's support the Steam support is nearly perfect though...

@lyckant: That DOS 2 feels more like PnP than any other CRPG in coop is the only important thing. Everything else is theoretical bullshit. Gaming is always first and foremost an emotional experience. It's all about the feels. That's both true for PnP and video games. Whether DOS 2 is closer to PnP in terms of rules than any other CRPG isn't of any greater importance to me. Maybe it's to you and that's ok. I know a lot of people who put a lot of interest into theoretical questions that could be argued to death. I don't see the point in that.

And btw, your arrogance shines through again. You seem to think that you know exactly what other people think and feel. But you don't. You might think for yourself that DOS 2 is overrated - and that's ok again. Everything else is just pointless speculation on your side, with the nasty side affect that you look down on others. Not the nicest character trait, but sadly often found among "hardcore" groups who think they belong to an elite. That something I find pretty laughable tbh.

But well, yeah, there isn't much more to discuss here, so let's put the thing down. I respect your opinion and I'm sure you can treat mine likewise.

@lyckant: Easy: coop

PnP is a social activity that you do together with friends. Coop in DOS2 is by far the best social experience I ever had in any CRPG. It just FEELS more close to PnP than any other game if you play it together with other people, even in the game's campaign (without the gamemaster). At least that's true for me and obviously for some other people as well (just read all the reviews).

So yeah, it's not the closest game to any existing PnP ruleset but imo the feeling you have while playing this game in coop is closest to the feeling of a real PnP session.

And please, my opinion is not laughable just because you disagree with me. We could just respect each others opinion and deal with it. ;)

@lyckant: PnP is so much more than rules. PnP is first and foremost a creative exercise, it's about expressing yourself, play a role and experiencing an evolving story that is guided by the game master. The ruleset is just there to have a common ground for everybody involved.

And btw, D&D and PnP are not the same. There are many other rulesets for PnP.
