Heres the main thing on my mind: A Clock error, trophies, or anything else network related, should NEVER effect whether I can play a game in my own home on a machine I own. Period. Its unnacceptable. Trophy integration teams? I would fire you people, instantly. You sucked from the get go and are terrible at your jobs, and now, even though I dont even LOOK AT OR CARE ABOUT TROPHIES, you've possibly ruined my gamesaves? And now my DLC content thinks its a demo...I cant play half the games I own whether HDD based OR disc based. People at R&D and product integration at Sony have made a terrible misstep. I cannot use something I payed for, because of a trophy issue or a clock issue? There is no excuse or idea you can conjure that will justify why these ideas are in any way related. The entire planet easily jumped over the y2k issue. A decade ago. Yet you geniuses somehow recreate that with ps3? And any trophy sync idea anyone speaks of is MOOT. There is absolutely no reason any trophie or clock issue should preventing me from spinning a disc around so I can play it. My god, it simply boggles the mind how some of these people even got a job. Anywhere, let alone at sony. Best of luck to everyone. Especially the afforementioned offenders. Their really going to need it. trupro
100% agree with this. what the heck happens in 20-30 years when ps8 is popular? will i not be able to use my ps3 at all because the servers are down. just like he said, there is no reason why i shouldnt be able to put darksiders in and play it right now.

well thank you for clearing that up it does make sense now. Hopefully this is the issue. so tonight at midnight the clocks should change again and match, and everything should be normal.

this makes no sense at all. I have been experiencing this problem since about 7pm eastern time yesterday. So my ps3 should have known it was feb 28 2010 @ 7pm and NOT feb 29 2010 OR march 1 2010.

thanks for the info this is really helpful.I have my tv set to "personal" my tv performed an automatic setup when i first powered it on, prompting meto choose the better looking image between 2. however, i havent used a disc nor have i had it professionally calibrated. i have ratatouille on standard dvd, and i dont know whether a bluray copy would matter but it looks good on my tv. im betting that wat you said about the film grain is wats going on here, as when i was watching rest stop on bluray some scenes looked fantastic, while others (particularly darker scenes) were very grainy.

Im Having trouble getting proper playback of blu-rays from ps3. Most blurays i watch look terrible and very grainy. Sometimes its even worse than if i watch a standard DVD. Here's my setup:

80gb ps3

Philips 42'' 1080p TV Model # 42PFL3603D/F7

Sony 5.1 Surround Sound Model# STR-K740P

I have the ps3 hooked up to the TV Via HDMI set to display 1080p. (My TV tells me its displaying 1080p when im watching a bluray even though it looks horrendous) I tried using my component cables with the proper settings and it still looks bad. This is really puzzling considering every game i have played looks fantastic. Tomb raider: underworld, Resident Evil 5, and especially bioshock all look amazing. Ive tried a couple different movies including rest stop, resident evil apocalypse, resident evil extinction, and Nick and Norah's infinite playlist, but they all looked horrible. The only bluray i watched that looked good was FFVII: advent children complete, but im sure thats because its CGI. Anyone with insight Please help!!! Most of the settings in the ps3 are confusing so im sure i dont have something set right.

i do think sony went the right route with the controller. Why change wats worked for them? however if they released the boomerang i would have bought it scowled at how weird it was got used to it and that would be then end of it.
