Well, I have an interesting tidbit to add to this. So at least read this:
My birthday is ON valentines day. I have this curse I get every year near this day. For one thing, I get sick in some way or another near or on my birthday. Last year I had the flu,but it only affected my muscles, the year before that I got sick three times, the third time My throat got really infected and I couldn't eat without it hurting really really bad. The year even before that I had lost my voice completely for 4 weeks and that sucked.
Oh but there is more! I never had a valentine for any of my birthdays, ever. Last year I broke up with gf at the current time before valentines because she well... wasn;t much of a gf in th first place lol. Then, she forgot my birthday. Before that... hmm nothing bad really. This year I have no idea, but I'd bet it involves no valentine lol.
Ahh I've been playing since November and I guess it's alright. I used to play Final Fantasy 11 for 3 years before that, and that was a more challenging, yet moreso boring game. I guess it all depends on preference on what you like about mmo's.WoW is just simple because I can jump on, pick up where I left without any waiting and keep going and finish my quests.
Oh, and why are you guys grinding to level up, there are some quests and instances around for you to xp in... I'm sure I'd get bored of the game if I were just grinding too. I also play with RL friends, so that makes it more fun.

Wow, well, you pretty much showed her you like her with the stuffed penguin.. then you say you only want to be friends? you confused the hell out of her o.O. I'd smack you on the head for saying you only want to be friends, you probably upset her a lot, because it does sound like she does like you. Just tell her the truth, were you afraid to tell her? If you explain why you said the whole friends thing and that you actually like her, she'd understand totally.
Also, after you two talk and figure out where you stand, if she is interested in more than friends, you could send her some flowers or take her out to a dinner and a movie to make up for sending her mixed signals and reaffirm to her that your feelings for her are more serious, to help wrinkle out any left lingering confusion after the "talk"
Don't get too serious with flowers and the whole dinner/movie thing. That's jumping the gun in this type of situation.. especially since they are only in high school. I think this girl is extremely weird to be honest, and I personally wouldn't bother, however he did the right thing with asking her to go to that restaurant.
