I don't understand why so many people are against this game. I agree it's too long and somewhat tedius, but I haven't encountered a single crash/bug and I'm about 20 hours in. The soundtrack is incredible, they built an atmospheric city and interesting characters who you care about (even though they're basically psychopaths). If anything, I think this revitalizes the series. The setting is odd for Mafia, but it makes total sense within the trappings of the story they're trying to tell -- which is extremely relevant to today's climate.
I don't really think number scores make any sense when it comes to games anymore because everyone enjoys different things, but I have to applaud Hangar 13 for having some stones to make a game that confronts racism head-on. Plus you feel like a bad-ass playing a Lincoln Clay. He's really stabby.
I timed a (no joke) two and a half minute load time playing this last night. That was just to load a previous save on the map I was currently on...whatever happened to caching? Even the Witcher 3 load times aren't that bad.
Other than that, I love this game, but I don't know how long I can deal with load times like that. And as a game that's designed to be saved after every move and requires reloading often, I might not be able to push through this one.
Some videos of how the game run would have helped. Great article, but I would have loved to see what this rig runs to get an idea. Either way, for me the PS4 Pro makes sense. I want VR, I want higher resolution games and I plan on getting a 4K TV early next year, but I don't want to build a PC rig that's going to cost me over a grand to ensure I don't have to upgrade for a few years. It's not for everyone, but I'm looking forward to it because I guess I'm gullible.
Yeah, I would totally buy remastered Mass Effect and I think it's kind of dumb that they wouldn't farm out the duties to another studio so they can make that quick cash. I went from 360 to PS4 this generation so I can't even enjoy BC functionality (that is, if they supported all three). I have an Xbox One, but would much prefer a PS4 version. That's cool, I'll keep my $60.
