Has anyone here bought/played Metro 2033 yet? What do you think? I'm in chapter 2 of the game and it's pretty decent so far.

MathMattS
It is an excellent game, similar to stalker in a way. The combat will get very tense later in the game, horror elements pick up because of this. It is awesome!

To be honest, I think if it were, less linear as in ff7,8,9, etc. I don't think the story would have been portrayed as effectively. In saying that, I'm enjoying this game far more than any other rpg I have played on xbox360...mass effect 2 comes close though:) But yeah linear or not this is a fantastic game 9-9.5 for me.

[QUOTE="bulletsword"]Even though it's enjoyable, it's basically the same FPS offering we've been getting for years. Other than some neat multiplayer features and kickass British accents, it really offers nothing but a stable online gaming community for children. Besides, it's not like MW2 haters aren't constructive about why they dislike the game. I find it being the other way around with its devoted followers acting as if MW2 is on the same level as the second coming of Jesus.

And that is it. Cod- glitchy, repetative and a true cliche of its predecessors. It is the same thing that we have seen for years and the only thing that can change that is a more unique story of orginality. I enjoyed playing the games, but I'm definately past them now.

The controls aren't perfectly fine, and I consider myself passive when it comes to those sort of things. The graphics are fine, I could live with them...but the story modes are horribly boring and repetitive. Controlling the alien is HORRIBLE, I managed to finish its story mode but it was a chore...their length is fine because any longer than they're, I wouldn't be able to handle finishing them. Overall the game feels VERY DATED...and im not talking 2-3 years, more like 10 years. I had average expectations for this title and came out underwhelmed. Im a HUGE alien fan but couldnt think of giving this game my $.

The controls are PERFECTLY FINE! there is no problem with them, it is so easy to play and it cannot possibly be easier, if you find the alien hard to control then go learn some co-ordination skills (message to everyone), your crosshair even tells you where the ground is -__-. The graphics are above average, environments are great really, equivalent to cod, graphics do not make a game complete though. The story is not that interesting, rather a cliche, but the campaigns are fun and intense if anything.

Outdated? no! How are cod, halo, bf and all those other shooters not outdated then? only because they have perks, aimdown sights, etc? not much really, stupid point if anything. IF ANYTHING this game brings something fresh to the gaming industry, it is an FPS which does not rely completely on gun kills or 1 shot knife kills (LOL!!! cos you drop dead from a knife instantly hey!), this game is different, very different, the gameplay is exciting, in the game lobbies I hear people screaming from fear, yelling out of joy, etc. In other FPS's I hear insults over who is better, that says a lot.

This game is a fresh break from the mainstream fps group, that has pretty much saved fps gaming for myself. If you cannot accept change, then do not bother discussing this game. Kudos to Rebellin deserved an 8.5-9.

First off, before you go around telling people to "learn some co-ordination skills" Think to yourself first, do you really think we're all new the the keyboard and mouse? I've been gaming for 15 years now.. My co-ordination is just fine.. now get off your high horse and look at the controls for what they are. If you have auto transition on, walking down a narrow hallway or stair case is extremely problematic. Not only that, but when you DO want to use it, there is the slightest lag in the camera transition. If that was a bit faster it would be manageable. Now, on the other side of the fence, if you have transition set to OFF, half the time it doesn't even give you the context sensitive button press to mount onto said wall. AvP2 that came out in 2001 had PERFECT controls for the aliens, this release of the franchise is slacking big time in that respect.

HA! now that is a hypocritical statement, AvP2 is a fantastic game that earned its review score, but the Alien was completely bland in that game, the pounce allowed the Alien to jump.....anywhere! I did not see that occur in the films, they usually wall hopped in the films like you can do in this game if you learn to utilise the controls properly, once you do you will realise just how fun it is. On the other hand, experience means very little in terms of the overall skill of a player but I am not willing to argue that point. Also, since when do controls score the game overall?

[QUOTE="SickGuyReviews"]I Honestly cannot realise why people have such a problem with this game? Seriously, fine the demo may have not said a lot for the game. but the full game is awesome. survivor mode is intense. The multiplayer is great. And fine the campaigns are quite short but their fun whilst they last. People complain about the graphics and controls but i cannot see the beef with them. left 4 dead has twice as worse graphics than avp yet everyones fine with it? and the controls are perfectly fine. So please tell me the problem?chex81

Very innaccurate review, this game should not be related to other shooters, its not your every day FPS. The control scheme is fine, the maps I have not seen yet. But certainly the demo is very enjoyable. You feel like you are Prvt Hudson, or an actualy Predator or xenomorph, and that is what counts to me.
