Good review, but the price really should have been taken into consideration. No matter how good a game is, $20 for 3 hours is never acceptable. If something like, say, Bioshock Infinite was $80 or more, I think opinions would be much more mixed, but it's the same dollar / hour proposition. I understand this is not how games should be looked at, but there are still standards to follow when pricing things.
Yes, the newest Zelda game is a "dip in quality" up until the next one is released, then it's suddenly the best of the franchise, blah blah blah. This discussion is so tired and pointless that it makes me ill. Choose something else to complain about, Internet.
I can't believe how bad piracy has become. Stealing a $1 song is bad enough, but a $10 - $60 game? The only time I ever pirate games are when they're Japan-only or rare and out-pf-print, and even then I feel bad about it.
I'm sure he meant that the fundamental concept of burning things to unlock other things to burn and seeing how all the different items behave were enough game to keep you playing.
I think the storytelling bit is fairly obvious - the narrative around the actual gameplay is interesting.
Wow, I was really impressed with the choices here. Not only was I introduced to a few pieces I hadn't heard before, I'm surprised that Gamespot chose games like Skullgirls and Kid Icarus, both of which had fantastic scores. Only thing they missed was Rhythm Thief, but I don't blame them for not knowing of that.
