If most people can't even say 'no' to a shinny new video game despite all the disdain for what the major game publishers do and how they increase the cost for games via more DLCs, microtransations, lootboxes, and now these silly little 'NFT' nonsense, no one is actually going to do anything serious like overthrow the system.

But if anyone thinks they may, here is some motivational music.

Anyway, this website is awful and there is barely anyone still here. Going back to Reddit.

@mattbbpl: "@Stevo_the_gamer: This was the response for an entire administration, and then they tried to overthrow the government. Perhaps we should start taking them at their word."

You know Republicans can't handle this truth.

Well the Democrats spent 4 years trying to impeach a president and managed to do it twice. So honestly the Democrats already proved they don't respect Democracy.

I think I'm just going to leave this website again cause it seems to be dying and they just remove features. No longer trolling, honest thoughts.

1) The concept of "impeach twice", is like saying someone was murdered twice. Impeach means to be successfully removed, which he wasn't. They successfully voted to impeach him in the house but the Republicans controlled the sensate. The whole idea of the '2nd impeachment' was some odd attempt to bar him from entering politics again, which didn't work unless we're going get news in 2024 that the Republicans won't let him run.
He's a dumb boomer anyway that just cares about being able to post on Twitter again. Everyone over age 50 should be barred from political positions to be honest. Too old and mentally slow to be in touched with how technology works or what the average person thinks.

2) No one should democracy. "Two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner."

It was meant to be that only tax payers could cote, and back then the only taxes were tariffs and land, which translated to only landowners could vote. This is mainly for the federal level, of course, different states and towns made their own rules and some did allow everyone to vote. And honestly, local elections even today directly affect your life than the presidency.

And every needs to shut up about "muh constitution!"

The 'Founding Fathers' (as if they were some monolith that agreed on everything) would be vehemently against:
1) Having a standing army
2) Having a fiat currency
3) Having a central bank
4) Enforcing a global hegemony.

These are needed today and aren't going to go away. Any arguments about following the constitution has been pointless for a long time. Besides, everyone knows already "they're secretly on the same side so our votes don't matter" so why care? If it did though, the person OP is complaining about is right. If democrat voters are going to flee to red states and just vote for the same shit, there should be some defense against that so they can't just flee from state to state like locusts. Me thinks OP is upset because he knows she's right.

I actually don't care and just want to enjoy the decline. If any of you actually care go ahead and try to get the revolution started. I'll join whoever wins. :D

Okay real talk, this isn't related to the thread but I haven't been on GameSpot for a couple years.

What the **** happened to this website? There is barely any activity, I remember there being a lot more features, and the options we have don't work as well.

I just tried to reply to another thread and I wanted to reply to someone asking a question about Windows 11. I simply wanted to cut down his put to just a couple sentences to address. It wouldn't work. Then I copy-pasted them and tried to put it in a quote format and respond to it that way what then everything I would write would just become part of the entire quote. Is there also a 'dark theme' by chance? Without Darkreader all the white is burning my eyes.

I'm stupid please help. :(

Because forget the constitution. These clowns think you should only be able to vote if you vote for them. The GOP has become terrifying, like Fascist Italy terrifying. Even more scary is the right is on board with taking away our rights so they can stay in power.

Exactly! Republicans are evil Fascists' that stole the elections in 2016 and then tried to coup when they failed to do so again in 2020! Just horribly evil, bigoted, idiotic Christian puritans that want to enslave everyone who aren't wealthy straight white males! Which is precisely why freedom loving democrat supporters should NEVER move to Republican states, they're kill you if you're non-white or not straight and will take all your rights and wellcare away! So we stay far away in or Blue state where we're safe from them.

Go troll somewhere else.

You think I'm trolling?!
Don't invalidate me. I'm just sharing my truth.

Besides, we know Republicans are evil, so why would anyone want to move to their states anyway? Would you wouldn't a bunch of dumbfuck rednecks moving into New York and voting in all their racist and anti-science shit, right? So you shouldn't worry about them restricting voting rights of new arrivals to their stats as we should honestly should be doing the same anyway. :)

You can't vote in another country until you went through the trouble of gaining citizenship, right? This should be the same on a state/province level within countries as well. People shouldn't just be able to move from area to area to take advantage when the times are good and then just bail without consequences as soon as it gets bad because chances are, if every place they move too starts to stop being good a few years after they've lived there, the problem is probably them.

Sorry for the double post guys. I can not figure out the formatting changes on this site. I was trying to edit a post and add the article as a quote but I find the formatting on here to be very difficult to work with.

Is there still a forum to discuss PC gaming? It feels like these forums are less populated than I last came here.

I have been incredibly blessed to spend my entire career at, and help build, one of the best places to make games in the world - Bethesda.

And I’ve had the joy of doing it with some of the most talented, humble, and passionate people there are. They are part of my family, and my good friends. I have also had the pleasure of working with, and partnering with, many of the best gaming and tech companies in the world. But our longest, and closest partner during my career, has been Microsoft.Today we join them, and I wanted to share some personal thoughts on what it means and our shared vision. The trajectory of Xbox, and the trajectory of Bethesda, in many ways have gone hand in hand. From our beginning, we had primarily been a PC developer. In 1999, two things happened. One, Bethesda became part of a brand-new startup - ZeniMax Media. And Microsoft started development of their first video game console - The Xbox. I can remember my first trip to Redmond to discuss the new system and bringing our next game, Morrowind, to the Xbox. I was dubious Xbox Morrowind would be worth the time, somewhat on a technical level, but more so from taking a hardcore RPG and moving it from a PC desktop experience to a controller-and-sofa experience. If we made it work, would people want it?Microsoft and their new Xbox crew had a view, that I came to share completely. Shouldn’t we allow anyone to have this experience? Why does it matter where the screen is or what the controller is? There are many people without the same access, and we can bring it to them.Morrowind would go on to become one of the best-selling Xbox games of all time, behind Halo, another PC style game some said wouldn’t work. Its success paved the way for the growth of our company, and proved the point - people wanted this experience, regardless of device.Microsoft quickly let us in on their next system, the Xbox 360. More than a PC port, our aim with our next game, Oblivion, was to usher in the next generation of gaming. With each game, from Fallout 3 to Skyrim, our studio and company grew, adding brilliant and like-minded studios across the globe. All of us sharing in the belief that expanding the reach of gaming was fundamental, whether it was on a pc, console, your phone, or the cloud. With each new console cycle, we evolved together. From bringing mods to consoles with Fallout 4, now over a billion downloads, to the latest technologies fueling Xbox Series X/S. These new systems are optimized for the vast worlds we love to create, with generational leaps not just in graphics, but CPU and data streaming as well. It’s led to our largest engine overhaul since Oblivion, with all new technologies powering our first new IP in 25 years, Starfield, as well as The Elder Scrolls VI.Like our original partnership, this one is about more than one system or one screen. We share a deep belief in the fundamental power of games, in their ability to connect, empower, and bring joy. And a belief we should bring that to everyone - regardless of who you are, where you live, or what you play on. Regardless of the screen size, the controller, or your ability to even use one.We can’t think of a better group of people to do that with than those at Xbox. We have friendships that go back to those original days. From Phil to his senior leaders to developer support, they don’t just talk about putting players first, they passionately live it. At Bethesda, we’ve been lucky enough to create games we love, and have an audience who loves them as much as we do. I have personally been humbled by the many industry honors I have received, as they belong to the entire studio. But one has always stood out to me for a special reason. When I received the Lifetime Achievement Award at GDC, I joked in my acceptance “I wonder how many achievement points this one is worth?” At the end of the ceremony, some good friends from Microsoft congratulated me and said they’d find out. A few months later I was given a code to a game they had created, named after me and locked to my account. When ran, it unlocks a single achievement - “Lifetime - 1000pts.” It still sits in my list when I check, and I smile every time.It has been a lifetime. But there’s more to come and achievements to unlock together. We hope you join us. All the best,Todd

@fedor first, sorry I'm not quoting you properly. This is the first time I've been on GameSpot in over an year. The format has changed so much.

The definitions of what are what is iffy. There there is a limited amount of content that you can just buy an own forever I consider that DLC. (And please note, I hate the paid mods BS, so this is "DLC" on the CC shouldn't exist.) I consider microtransations as paid for services that have to be renewed, that allow you to pay money on the game forever. This is also known as an 'infinite cap' or 'infinite spend'.

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Category:Microtransactions

Just so you know, the official term for Microtransations is a small payment of <$1

Optimistic people are speculating that Bethesda may actually improve. The paid mods crap was because their parent company, Zenimax, saw mods being given for free as a wasted opportunity. The simplifying of the lore, starting with Oblivion being made to look like generic medieval fantasy, was also due to Zenimax interference. So they may actually have more creative freedom now.

But I'm not hopeful. I can't really remember any major changes that happened in vidya that were for the better.
