I hate to admit that this probably isn't going anywhere. Like other annoying social trend that you wish would just go away, they usually prevail due to strength in numbers. So I doubt that these flash games are going anywhere. I appreciate that they're free but it's starting to disturb me that the gaming media is fueling the fire by covering these shallow flaccid little games. Gamers and many media outlets alike complain that "casual gaming" is slowly but surely stripping the creativity and wit out of gaming but they proceed to cover it. It's just as irritating to see this covered here as it was to see a two page full color spread on Farmville in last months Game Informer. I know it's probably not going to change much by stating my opinion, but I refuse to make it worse by getting in line for this silly trend. As they say folks, don't feed the animals....

I'm sorry, but a slightyly higher polygon count and some lighting are not acceptable for what should be a jaw dropingly amazing looking game. This series is starting to get on my nerves.

As far as I'm concerned, speaking as a fan of games in general, not one particular system, this is just another problem in a steadily growing list for Sony. I'm beginning to see some pretty upsetting trends in Sony's management of the PS3. Here's hoping they get their act together before they drop the ball all together.

I look at it like this, if the whole thing backfires and doesn't work out for them, then you know they will put things back to the way they were to begin with. However, this could be a good thing for the industry. If it means better coverage of games and more focused "unveilings" then I'm all for it. This for me, is going to be one of those wait and see things. It's a bit too early to tell exactly how this is going to shape up.
