@Random_Matt - Yes we are. Though you obviously don't talk to those that aren't on at this moment. Some people have data usage caps, others have slow speeds due to location and others just have problems staying connected. This sort of technology is for when everyone in the world has unlimited and rapid speed broadband which just isn't the case at the moment.
@kuda001 - For the companies. It's still going to cost you as the consumer. That's how business works. They make the HDDs at a cost, then when it goes through retailers it ends up being around 6 - 8 times the price of manufacturing in a modern company. You seriously think it's ok for you to buy a new console then buy an external HD to make up for the lack of storage? I don't mass manufacture HDDs so I won't be getting them at a really cheap price. I'm saying that with the numbers of consoles these guys will ship, the cost of a 1TB HDD instead of 500GB is going to be so minimal.
@kuda001 - and even a 1TB would not change their price point dramatically. 500GB can be achieved through an SD card now. It's as if they made the decision for 500GB when they started developing this console however many years ago it was.
@kuda001 @JunglemanchiId - As I previously stated though, the jump between 500GB and 1TB is very small, especially in a mass manufacturing market. I am being completely serious when I say they could ship these with double storage and add about $10 to the price.
@shingui5 - Difference here being that when you buy a game on Steam you get it much cheaper most of the time. The game is then tied to your account. The scenario I picture for Xbox One is that you will activate the game on your account and it will be more expensive than PC games as they always are. You will still be able to buy the game used, as in the physical disc, then you will have to pay a fee to unlock the game for yourself. This means they can claim that used games are still available but they will profit from them. Will probably be $10 or something. Just speculation at the moment obviously.
@kuda001 - I don't have an Xbox One. I'm saying that 500GB for "next gen" is laughable and there's no excuse for it. Anyone who thinks it's good enough is just an apologist for horrible business decisions. You accept that within a year they will release a version with a 2TB hard drive?
