Remember how the PS3 was hard to develop for when it came out? That seems to have changed, but who's to say the PS4 won't be a royal pain to develop for when it's launched, too? Let's also not forget about how unstable the XBox 360 was. I think it's actually smarter not to rush the next gen consoles.
I hope they get the funding. Aside from Nintendo, I'd rather have another choice besides the online pass maniac (Sony) and subscription fee McGee (Microsoft.) I still plan to get Nintendo's console, but I'd rather not support the bad policies of the other two companies.
I'm starting to think that practices like using online passes, always online DRM, and lackluster DLC are starting to catch up with the industry. It's kind of a letdown.
Who's to say it won't fail if it's digital only too? I can't get a worthy broadband connection out here, so I fight be forced to give up this hobby because of a lame excuse from a potential ISP and a stupid idea by gaming companies. I doubt I'd be the only one. Thing is, there's nothing to say they can't make digital versions of retail games cheaper.
