Colony wars

MarcRecon

Wow....I thought I was the last Colony War trooper left!!!! lol

WTF!!!! Man I also thought I was the only one left. I've been whining for CW action since the PS2. It still BAFFLES me that Sony so completely ignored this fantastic series, especially since they bought Psygnosis who were the creators of this series. I want all three games as well as both PE games as I would love to revisit them & I can't find playable PS1 copies anywhere.

DANG!! Colony Wars defined HARDCORE on consoles before it was even a notion back in the day. Glad to see others love this series also.:)

My most recent purchases are:

Crysis DL

AC2 deluxe DL with add-ons

and Zuma for my casual fix.

Next will be:

Skyrim

Dark Souls.

I really wish all games had a direct DL option.

Maybe PS4 will allow this. Seriously prolongs the life of the BR drive & performs a little bit better to boot.

blueboxdoctor

the problem with downloads is the speed of the DL and the service provider itself. I know I downloaded Crysis and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and PoP took forever and Crysis was only like 40 minutes. Comcast is very inconsistent with their service, and I've even noticed that with just using the internet. Granted, now that it's all on my HDD I have no problem with it. Though, I do like having physical copies of games.

As an aside, if my ps3 was to die would I be able to download these games again if I'm logged in with the same account?

For sure. They stay linked to your account and that is one of the very reasons I like DL so much. I think they can be re-downloaded up to 5 times??

I too like the idea of physical copies but once I discovered the ease of DL I kind of got over it, although I do miiss the manuals & swanky artwork associated with boxed games.

I feel your pain with the DL speeds though. My ISP is very stable but it's a stable 7mg. Crysis was just shy of 4gigs so it wasn't too bad. ACII on the other hand was 6.7 plus an additional 2.5 for the DLC. I set up the DL just before going to bed & it had just finished when I woke up several hours later.

I'm going to DL the demo & take it from there. Sounds like interest for this game is mounting. I have a mic.

i also have a brand new 60gb still in its box not open JoKeR_421

I reckon for an unopened unit the bidding war would net you a MASSIVE profit. Hang on to it JoKeR. You've got a real gem there.

I have the '07 40g. Runs just ike the day I got it. Never had a problem with it except it will NOT recognize PGA Tour 10. I've pushed it pretty hard at times especially with extended 12+ hour sessions on the Bethesda games & the R* epics. Web browser freezes up once in a while but reset clears it up. Still very quiet & the air coming out the exhaust is still relatively cool. My buddy's 60g is till running, but his blows air like a rabid hairdryer & it's pretty loud.

Recently a local EB had a special for a PS2 bundled with 10 games. All used of course but with their usual guarantee. I think it was 50 or 60 bux. Not too bad, and you actually had many games to choose from not just pre determined titles. The BC models were probably a great deal when they were released years ago, but I'd be wary of buying one now unless you somehow managed to find a spankin new one still in the box.
