[QUOTE="Orlando_Magic"]

[QUOTE="DaDukies"]surprisingly, you can still get madvilliany for $10-$15 on ebay :? guess it's still in production? i think that'll def be worth something someday though...classic albumplanetshhh

I have that. These are the only 3 Doom albums I own though:

Does anyone know why they stopped selling MM Food... only to reissue it a few years later? I have the original but I don't think its worth anything yet.

Edit: And I was also thinking, if you own College Dropout with the brown original cover that will prolly be worth more down the line than the white one they sell now....

I also remember some of you guys saying you have Jay-Z's Black Album with a non black cd, so the black cd version will prolly be worth more down the line...

not to burst your bubble, but, honestly, i really doubt that any cd's are going to be worth more "down the line".

As the music world turns toward the digital age - I couldn't disagree more. CDs will gain value over time just like vinyl.

Us is out via Rhymesayers on September 22nd.

Via Rhymesayers Entertianment:

Brother Ali's last album, the critically acclaimed, The Undisputed Truth, was a landmark in hip-hop, an album that carried weight equally with critics and fans alike, an album of bold statements and bolder beats, politically and socially aware without being preachy. His new album, Us (Rhymesayers Entertainment), is a progression that will make Brother Ali one of the most enduring figures in hip-hop; while still aware, Ali has turned his gaze inward, and started examining the human condition from the outside in. A profound personal glimpse into a vulnerability seldom seen or heard in music, Us touches on the strengths and flaws of the human condition, exploring drug abuse, divorce, homophobia and many more topics that most people are scared to touch in their own lives, much less on an album for the world to see.

As with previous endeavors, the beats here are courtesy of Ant, whose production work seems to be getting more soulful and lush by the minute. The guest appearances only accentuate Brother Ali's strengths, with Chuck D, Freeway, Joell Ortiz and Stokley Williams of Mint Condition making strong appearances.

[QUOTE="Improbus"]

I personally have a couple hundred cds probably about 75 of them are hip-hop because I didnt listen to that until later. I usually only buy albums from artists I feel like supproting. I'm pretty sure I have almost every release Rhymesayers has put on CD - missing a few I know for sure. I maybe buy 1 or 2 cds every few weeks. I'll probably cop Eydea&Abilities, Losos Way and Slaughterhouse next...I have a dozen vinyl or so as well. Like Jeezy's Thug Motivation 102 and T.I. King :lol:

My dad on the other hand probably has a 1000+ Jazz cds, 7500+ or so of rock, blues, funk, soul, country...anything you can think of really. Probably add 2500 or so vinyl on top of that as well. It's pretty dope - I should post up some pictures.

Anti-Venom

Damn, that collection sounds awsome. Thats a massive amount of music.

Yeah although none of us are talented with music the whole family loves listening to it. Heck - my middle name is Dylan after Bob Dylan. I can totally give it up to my dad for my love of music. I have vague memories of him taking me to records stores at a very early age. He never went into anything professionally related to music but I can't imagine doing anything else. It's awesome to have his support, knowledge and guidance behind me. Hopefully I'll be doing something music industry related soon enough or after college.
